Internet/firewall setting

I keep getting the message "can't connect to the server. check firewall/internet settings". Now, the settings I have on my laptop work at home, but where I am now it doesn't work. Can anyone help me figure out what settings I need to have for the internet/firewall so I can get VMK to work? If I can't get it to work tonight, could someone get me this weekend's pin? Thank you very much.

well, if it works at home and not where you are, I would say there is nothing you can do since whoever owns the router would have to change some settings to allow shockwave access
