Internet Explorer is driving me NUTS!

If anyone can help me with this, I will love you forever!!!

A few months ago, I tried to install MSN, and for some reason it would not install correctly, despite trying several times. When it said to shutdown and try installing again, each time, it said that it had installed Internet Explorer 6. I never did get MSN to install, but the problem is that ever since it tried to install IE6, my browser has been VERY messed up! The main problem is that any site that requires cookies will NOT work, even though I've gone through and made sure that my settings are set to allow cookies. I can't even get into my web page's stats and control pannel!

The tech support guy from MSN suggested reinstalling IE, and when I tried this, it said it could not install it properly, just as MSN had! I can't find anything on the Microsoft website, and I'm going NUTS!

Anyone have any suggestions? Hope I made sense.

I don't know if you've already tried this, but see if you can uninstall IE6 and MSM by using the uninstall function in "My Computer\Control Panel\Add/Remove programmes". Although the IE and MSM re-install didn't work, the install attempt may exist in the registry and uninstalling should clear it and fall back to the previous IE version.

I'm not promising that it'll work, but you never know!

I was going to suggest what Lovely2CU said. If you have XP though that is more of a pain to use and try to fix. Good luck, Crystal

I tried what you suggested, but IE is somehow not listed in my add/remove programs! I've been emailing back and forth with HP support since last night, but we're not making any progress yet
