Internet connections

Hi All
We're off in a few days time and Steve needs to be able to check his e-mails etc while we are away. Minnie Much and I will probably want to tell people about our holiday too !!!. Does anyone know what conection leads we will need to bring for Steve's laptop. I don't think it is wireless but it does have a modem and the room has some sort of internet "thing". ( Admirals club room in the Newport Bay)

Admirals Club does have wifi access; rates are as follows

10 eu for a 2 hour card; charges per second ie 120 minutes to be used non-consectutively

20 eu for 24 hours consecutive use

60 eu for 7 days

120 eu for 30 days

All via orange-wifi.com

Does anyone know if there is anywhere where there is internet connection with printing facilities. DS (19) is flying to meet us - it would make his return journey easier if he could check in online and print off his boarding card

I know there is a special internetroom in the Disney Hotel but not sure if and how you can use it.

Maybe if you take a usb-stick,put the boarding card on it and ask in the hotel lobby if the could ore would print it for you?

If there's an ethernet connection in the room, the lead you need will probably be there in the room, or available on request from reception. This is what normally happens in hotels, and in WDW the hotels all have the leads there - just plug in and go online. As bavaria said though, wireless is available if your laptop has a wireless card in it.

There is a business service room just to the right of reception. The receptionists will open it for you, and you pay for its use by swiping a credit card next to the computer. It was costing 5E for 15 mins, with discounts if you paid for longer. There are computing facilities (Internet access, MS Office programmes, email etc.) and printers there.

The WiFi service costs 10E for 2 hours, the time doesn't need to be consecutive, you can log on and off up to the total time during your visit. We found the bandwidth in the Fantasia Lounge to be very good - much better than most hotels, no problem using Skype for example.

We asked for the 60 Eurocard and the ladie told us they only sell the 10 Eurocards this year.

Just buy a wifi card and go inline.No need to go to the reception.
In the rooms the connextion works perfect.

But the problem is that at SQL and NPB there IS no ethernet connection. I was VERY frustrated as Reservations and the Front Desk said 'yes there is an internet connection' but failed to mention that it's wireless only in 20 of 1000 rooms at the SQL, with no other option other than wireless in the lobby or lounge.

I moved rooms several times to get close enough to pick up wi-fi. When I left at 5am during a very heavy windstorm, I saw another business traveller standing outstide the lobby, trying to turn his laptop to keep the wifi connection. Not a reasonable expectation to get work done this way, yet DLRP actively markets SQL and NPB as business hotels, and even touts internet access on their own conference websites.

HNY has internet access in every room.

I suggest that they review this to say 'in some rooms only' etc and also educate the staff a litttle more.....
