Hi Everyone... We are heading to the world next week and found an awesome Diser that has rented us his DVC points.... I could not be happier or more comfortable with the process (so far - :) )... But my question is this...

Is there Internet Connection in the Villas? I know you pay like $10 for 24 hours in the hotels but I didn't know if it was included in the Villas....

Thanks!

There is internet connection (wired) in each villa. A short ethernet cord (I think it is five feet) is usually in the closet (if not you can request one) but recommend bringing own longer cord. As a renter, you will pay the daily fee.

Anyone have direct experience with a renter paying the fee?

We are DVC members. I use the high speed internet access when I am there. I do not pay the fee. However, I don't have to do anything to not pay the fee. It seems I make the reservation on points, I show up, I connect, I do not pay the fee. I don't have to provide any information, show any membership card, or do anything else. It seems that my staying in a villa on points is enough that the fee, not applicable to DVC members, is not charged.

If someone rents points (or say I make a reservation for a family member or friend and don't charge them anything) and has a reservation made with points, is this handled differently because of the name on the reservation? Or, is the fee just not charged to any rooms where the reservation is made using points?

I think it may be possible either way. There has been a few reports of owners getting charged the fee on a few of the days of usage (hit and miss). Now for an owner that caught the fee on their room bill, it is not a big deal, the owner walks to the front desk, shows the DVC member card and the charge gets removed. For a renter... there's no recourse.

If a renter does not mind paying the daily fee, then try it out, they might get a freebe, but do not panick if the charge shows up, because technically the renter should be charged... The only guaranteed way for a renter to avoid the fee is not hooking up.

If your KTK card is printed with the words, "DVC Member" then you do not pay for wired internet access while staying at a DVC WDW resort.
