Internet buddy relationships real?

Yes, internet relationships are real in my opinion. I've met a lot of nice people especially on the DIS. As a matter of fact I just got back from meeting someone really special from the DIS. We met in NYC a couple of weeks ago and hit it off so well that we are thinking of leaving our spouses for each other. We are planning our getaway now. She's the best pal you could ever have. :goodvibes There must be a lot of pixie dust around here. :)

Wow, just wow and be very careful.

I am meeting a couple of DIS people in WDW in a week or so. So far, I think they are two nice women with children and DHes like me and not ax murdering men :confused3 . Although, I could be the crazy person ;) I guess I will have to take that chance and hope for the best :sunny: .

Seriously though, I would only meet someone for the first time in a very public place, more so if it is "first date" type of thing. Good luck.

The only issue we have is that she's a Yankees fan and I'm a RedSox fan. Any idea how we can resolve this issue? It'a a major issue. :teeth:

This is very disturbing to read. Do either of the spouses know? How about kids, any involved here? I find this really strange. Dis meets are are not designed o break up families.

I also think that opposing baseball teams are hardly an "issue"

Thanks so much for your replies so far guys. All very interesting. I'm trying to figure out how to keep our friendship alive given the distance factor. He is 21 and I'm 27 but a young 27 at that. Would you consider it abnormal? He is also a disney fan, but I have yet to introduce him to these boards! lol. Unfortunately, I'm not sure when I'll next be over in MD. I was over visiting my cousins last month, but they didn't give me any time to meet up with my buddy. And, we ended up so frustrated with my relatives over there that we can't imagine going back for a while. I don't see my buddy suddenly jumping on a plane over here; safety and finances being the main issues! Darn!

Nobody knows how to take you. Silly boy. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Regardless if quackmore is just trolling, I find what he posted highly insulting to his family. What if his wife reads here, how would she feel? Weird too weird, or may be its just wishful thinking on quackmores part :confused3

Maybe internet relationships are not right after all. I just got a PM from her with our escape plan and I'm not so sure about it. She wants to travel the country in this VW Bus and live off the land. :confused3 I'm having 2nd thoughts now. I mean...I guess it would be kinda fun but... I'm scared. :scared1: What do I do :confused3

I'm beginnng to have 2nd thoughts about Internet relationships now. I just received these from her today in the mail for my birthday. I can't believe she expects me to wear these? Would you re-gift them :confused3

Does an imaginary online boyfriend count? :confused3

I do know a young lady from another board, I did send her bail money by Western Union, she is supposed to pay me back this week.

Well shoot.... there goes my Christmas gift to you!

I can't see you traveling the country in a VW van and livin' off the land. I've always pictured as an Oscar Meyer Wienermobile kind of guy. :confused3

I have met several DISers - all but one at WDW! I figure the middle of Main Street USA is a pretty safe place!!

I recognized a DISer in the Disney store recently - I didn't talk to her but did PM her that night - we have since become friends and gone to the mall, out to dinner with our families and they just came over for game night - I am pretty sure we will be friends for years to come!!! The first time she and I met with our kids at the Disney Store!

I have met a group of DISers who I consider some of my closest friends and would not hesitate to meet any of them!! Well -maybe one or two!! ;)
