Internet at the Fort

It's been years since we've camped at the fort, and DH has multiple Zoom meetings to attend while we're on vacation. How is the Internet these days at the sites? Circa 2010 we had to check out equipment (modem/router?) in order to have internet access at our site. Please tell me things have advanced in the last ten years. Thanks!

The Wi-Fi is sketchy at best and heavily dependent on the crowds and time of day. We typically use our cell hotspot since surprisingly enough with AT&T its a pretty good signal.

Thank you. The few times we've camped at the Fort since 2010 we used our phones and didn't have to remote in for work. So we never paid much attention to connectivity. Looks like we might have to think about a mobile hotspot other than our phones. I know my phone and connectivity sucks.

We were there in our RV about a year and half ago, hubby uses a cell hotspot and had no problems. He uses Verizon. He works from home so needs internet no matter where we are. He was able to work fine.

I'll echo everyone else's comments.

Wifi is "variable" at best. If you are close to an AP (access point or Antenna on a Pole), it is better. It is also dependent on the time of day (evenings are generally worse) and the number of people in the loop hitting the same AP.

The pattern seems to be the overall service really degrades in the afternoon as families return from the parks and kids jump on a streaming/social media platform.

If you need a stable connection (for work or sanity), you are better hotspotting off a cellular carrier. All cell companies have pretty good coverage.
