How many internet connections are in the GVs? If we have to use a wireless router, are they hard to install? I installed one at home, but I am afraid it might not be so easy at WDW.

If you were requesting a certain area, what would you ask for? Thanks.

A wireless rounter is a necessity in my book. Nothing better than doing your work from the porch.

If you aren't worried about security, they are totally brainless. Find the connection in the DVC villa (that's that hard part). Plug cable from wall to router. You're done.

If you are worried about security - and folks will tell you that you should be - you need to spend a bit of time getting all the security set up. But you can do that at home, shouldn't take more than an hour. If you aren't a techie, invite a friend over (I've found most techies enjoy the challenge, or can be bribed with a few beers.)

Thanks for the speedy reply. I wont be accessing any websites that need to be secure.

I can probably handle the set up. I did it myself here at home when we had cable. I plan on taking the wireless router I used then. It will be good to get some further use out of it since I only used it for about 2 months.

The security on a wireless router has nothing to do with the types of web sites you are going to access.. The bigger issue is that ANYONE that is close enough to connect to your router will be able to access your computer as if they were on your network. I have seen people's routers all the time when at Disney and have even been able to see their files, music, etc..

People need to take the security more seriously IMO.. As far as set up time.. it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to set up everything. Very easy and can be done at home to where it is just plug and play when you arrive.

We just returned from OKW a week ago. The internet worked fine until we hooked up the router. Nothing worked. Took off the router and the internet worked fine. I guess not all routers are alike???

Last year several people named router model numbers that worked well. Maybe someone could enlighten me again so I can prepare for the next trip.

I don't know the answer to the OP question. Anyone?:confused3
