Internet Access Question

We have used the internet access at BWV before, but only with one computer. This time our son and daughter-in-law are joining us in a 2 BR. When we pay for the internet access, is it good for multiple computers? What about in the "studio" part of the 2 BR as well as the main room?
Thank you!

At Saratoga Springs in a one bedroom there was more than one connection but only one worked....and not the one on the computer desk.

Next time I plan to take a wireless router. This way we can use as many computers as we want.

I believe the router will only allow one computer access. Even the wireless router will only allow one computer. Has anyone actually attempted this????? I recently tried at the Dolphin and it only allowed one computer.

We used the wireless router in our last visit to SSR, and it worked just fine within the unit. My brother stayed a unit next to mine, but he couldn't get the signal. So he had to bring his labtop to my unit and it worked just fine.

A wireless router (or even a wired one) will allow multiple computers to access the Internet. It creates a small private network, and routes all requests for anything outside the network (like anything from the Internet) out using the one IP address that the service provides.

The service only sees one machine - the router. The router keeps track of what goes to what PC on the private network.

If you get a pre-n router, you could probably share access to your neighbors as well!

At the BWV, the 2 bedrooms are all lockoffs, so whatever there is in the one bedroom portion will be separate from the studio portion. There are separate phone numbers, aren't there?

As others have confirmed, a wireless router will work and allow multiple computers on. The router is seen as the connected machine on the internet - the others are on an internal network. That's how I run my webcam every trip and we're still able to use DH's machine to check email and surf!

What locations have internet connectivity? I was at VB in November and was disappointed that I had to use dial up. I had to search around at some stores for an AOL package to be able to get on line.

I know, I shouldn't be working but having fun.

Does anyone know where the connection at OKW in a 1BR is located? OKW was not connected the last time we stayed there.

Thanks!

The connection is in the main part of the unit over by the counter where the table is. This is true for the 1 and 2 BR units at OKW. In the Studio units the connection is where the small table is.

Thanks, Jeff. I really like having the connection at a desk in the bedroom like SSR has. I know OKW doesn't have the desk, so I guess the table is the next best place to have it.
