Who's been? What did you think? Did you go to any of the seminars? My husband is a landscape designer and I am thinking of planning a long weekend trip this spring. Just wondering if it's worth the negotiations since we're already planning a September 2015 trip. :confused3 He's never been to WDW. I almost think a short 3 day trip to the F&GF would be a great way to introduce him to WDW. Thoughts?

We love going during the flower and garden festival. We've been 3 times and hope to be there again next year. The garden displays and topiaries are something else and would be a fantastic way to see Epcot for the first time.We try to get to quite a few of the seminars while we are there. Usually we only spend 2 days at Epcot, but during F&G we get hoppers and spend a couple of hours each day. But I would also say that as a professional he would need to adjust his expectations. I'm no professional, but I have earned my master gardener's. The seminars are aimed for the weekend gardener and are pretty simple. I still enjoy sitting in on them, though.

Also something he might be interested in- there is a behind the scenes tour of the gardens of Epcot that is only offered during the festival. It lasted about 4 hours and we learned a lot about the work that goes on there.

He's always looking for different ideas and plant materials. I thought this might be a fun way to get some inspiration. The behind the scenes tour sounds awesome. Do you remember what the cost of it was?

When we did it 2 years ago it was $60 per person. Well worth it in our opinion. It wasn't offered every day, and only offered once a day, pre- opening till roughly noon.

I went last year. It was beautiful the parks (allllll of them, even the "Avoid" parks were not packed) were not very full. It was amazing. I'd definitely do it again.

This is when we plan our trip to WDW, especially for the Flower and Garden. I agree that the seminars are aimed at weekend gardeners, but the flower displays and topiaries are beautiful. For the last 3-4 years, Disney has added a mini food and wine festival to flower and garden, so the weekends have become popular for locals.

In the past, Great Britain has also offered a free guided tour of their tea garden. I know you have to make reservations. I haven't been on the tour but have read positive reviews.

I took my husband for our Anniversary a few years ago to the Flower and Garden show. He's the plant person at our house. He had been to WDW a few times, but wasn't gung-ho about going very often. We went for a long weekend and just went to Epcot to the show. He had a blast and while we were at the airport, he told me to go ahead and book a week that summer to bring the family back! YAY! He's been going with us ever since (we used to leave him at home).
