International Dinner & Illuminations?

I saw on a thread here that there is an InternationalDinner & Illuminations Dessert Reception. Has anyone done that? What did you think? Where is the meal served? I've always wanted to watch Illuminations from that private area by the bridge in France. We used to watch it from there before they closed it off. Do you have to really dress up. In the past I have seen people in heels and evening dresses. I don't think my Nike's would fit in. TIA

This is a Grand Gatherings event which is booked through the Grand Gatherings program for a minimum of 8 guests. Many times it is booked by a convention staying in a Disney hotel, or an engagement/wedding/anniversary/milestone birthday party - hence the dressed up attendees. When you book it is for just your group, and so you control dress code and invite list. It's like a private catered event.

We did this one for a family reunion trip a few years ago, seems like it was about $75 a person back then once you added in tax and gratuity. We normally would just try to get a cruise boat but the party size on that trip was too big (the boats are limited to ten people and we had 19).

No, sorry. You have to have at least 8. We have a grand gathering of 9.

We did an IllumiNations Dessert Party after our Disney wedding this past November. We had 50 people the the UK Lower section. Hopefully we can do a one year anniversary party this coming November we about 10 people.

This was our favorite part of the wedding and would not have had a Disney wedding with the dessert party.
