Unfortunately that could happen at any airport for a number of reasons with one of the first in the summer being weather and others like not enough ground crew to spread around with multiple aircraft landing around the same time.
For every "I can't believe it took one hour" there are also people who will say "I can't believe it only took 15 min" and that could be on the same day.
Last Friday night we were suppose to depart at 6p for a flight from BOS to DC. Due to severe storms DC called a ground stop. We didn't depart until 11p and due to storms we took the long route and didn't land until 1250a. We got our luggage with-in 20 min. But I would imagine those that landed right before and those en-route who landing during ground stop probably had a long wait for their luggage as it was most likely delayed as they waited for the storm to move away.
Don't get me wrong, it's lousy but your flight most likely was a big fluke rather then the norm.
