International College Program

I had to do some sleuthing to find us!!
We need to gab more girls! popcorn::

Sooo....that visit already seems much too long ago! It really won't be so long though before the Christmas break and they can get together again! Shanan is very itchy these days with getting school done with! She called me tonight and asked "When are we going to Disney, I just need a date"? LOL...poor kid

I told her, I am always (toooo often actually) looking for an offer I can't refuse but that isn't good enough! She wants a date...geeeesh

How are things with you and yours ladies??

Any action on the 'getting back to Disney' for Brynna Marjorie? How are you keeping? Your trip is not far away at all now!! I am sure you can't wait...

How about you too Bonnie? Getting set for Christmas too?

I have begun shopping..but hardly..seems to be coming too fast this year but then I think I always say that!

I heard it was Kevin's b'day yesterday. He turned 20...sigh...I wish

Nice that they keep in touch!

Nothing terribly exciting happening here...same old, same old...little work, little play, you knw how it goes.

Well..this should take us back to page 1...hope to hear from you both!!!

Karen :wave2:

Hey Karen, nice to hear from you. Hope you're doing well too Bonnie.

Been pretty quiet around here but I'm sure that will end soon. Yes, we're busy counting the days, 31 sleeps until we head to Vancouver for the Aerosmith concert. Starting to pick up the little items we seem to be needing and sorting through what we do have. Haven't quite figured out the whole Xmas shopping thing yet although I think for the most part we're going to frantically shop at DD on the afternoon of the 23rd and then wrap it all. I am taking my nieces to Bippity Boppity Boutique for their Xmas gift though. We've booked it for the 28th.

Brynna heard from her college that they likely won't proceed with the program now which has disappointed her. They feel that not many would use it. But I say, how would they know unless they tried. Oh well. She's hoping to hear re the H2B I believe in February or so.

Karen, did you do the Princess training? I finally finished it, the date the graduation course came out and lo and behold got myself a free cruise! So now we're heading back to Florida for the same time next year (Dec. 16) and doing the Western on the Caribbean Princess. Of course Brynna wants some WDW time so I'm sure we'll do Christmas there again, but probably for not as many days!

So when are you taking Shanan back? I'm sure she's itching for a visit.

Anyway, take care and hope to chat some more soon.

Marjorie

That was fast!!

That's too bad about the Program and I agree..how would they know until they see the demand? Well..I am sure something else will pop up for Brynna! Things have a way of working out in the end and who knows, maybe something better still!!

Sounds like one nice, long holiday coming up! I am jealous...here I am looking and thinking when I shouldn't be at all! lol... I will take Shanan back..just not sure when?? She wants to go for Christmas but I have that problem in that the 'other' daughter hates WDW! Sooo....basically, it's a Shanan and I thing? She is going away in Feb (reading week) though she is pushing for Disney, her friends aren't!!! So, not sure...maybe May? Maybe Summer? Kind of depends on where Shanan ends up an what she's doing next Summer really?

How goes Jenny Craig btw?? Something I keep thinking of but that's as far as I seem to ge with it!!!

I started the Princess Academy...then didn't finish. Once I heard about the free cruises and update to Elite Status with Princess Cirlce I was all over it! hahaha...sooo...basically last week, all day Thursday and Friday I did it..then I was set to do the Commodores test Friday night and the site was under maintenance until 5:00 PST today! Soooo...I still have to do the test  I hear it's hard?? An hour long?? Ugh...can you stop and save?

I have begun the Cunard one as well...a couple of the girls in the office just came off the QM2 and LOVED it! Even Trans-Atlantic! So...I thought well maybe I can get in on that when the test is released if I work on it now. I am at Staff Captain but gosh, that's one complicated ship and lots to absorb!

Well...I have final payments today for my ladies group in January...want to come ladies? January 28th-Eastern Carib?? :yay: Better get working!!

Have a good one, your turn Bonnie to update us!

See you later!
K

Hey there!

I've been thinking about you guys...busy as usual, but no excuse! I was actually darn close to getting myself banned from this place, and as it stands I'm forbidden from viewing/posting on the TR Board. Do I strike you ladies as a pot-stirrer with anger issues? lol Way too much drama for me let me tell ya!

I was actually through your neck of the woods on Saturday Karen! Ran quickly into Sherway Gardens before going to friends in Mississauga for dinner. It's amazing what you can pick up in less than 1 hr!

Sorry to hear that Brynna's university isn't open minded enough to jump on the Disney bandwagon Marjorie. I'm sure something will come up for her soon!

Starting to realize the Christmas is just around the corner. I've got to get my crap together that's for sure!

So glad to touch base. We need to do this more often! Back to work for me!

Take care.

Bonnie

Bonnie, you are such a rebel rouser! Sp??? :lmao:

Whatever did you do? lol....

Too much dribble around here lately, at least on the Community Boards and when you speak of anything with substance or disagreeable to some, you get your wrist slapped! Surely not the fun place it used to be that's for sure! Not much stimulating conversation to be had!

So..I was at Sherway on Sunday! Almost went Saturday...but it's always soooo busy, not that Sunday was much better. Shelby took me to 'show' me what she is wishing for for Christmas! I barely got out there alive! That's what happens when she blows in for the weekend!

Well, I have the Dentist bright and early! Oh joy!

See you soon ladies, K

I really had to look for us this time!!! Not enough yakking going on here these days!!!!

How are you?? I know it's a crazy time of year for all but I wanted to touch base and wish you and yours the Merriest of Christmas's along with a very Happy and Healthy New Year! Marjorie you must be getting all set to head off on your great Holiday! We'll have to live it vicariously through you for now...sigh
What do you have planned for the Holidays Bonnie? I know S&S are talking about another get-together so that will be nice...

Shanan doesn't get home until the 21st, always last out the door it seems. We are going to see the Rockettes on Dec 23rd and Wicked on Dec 26th, other than that, quiet Christmas plans. I do keep looking for that 'deal I can't refuse' but nothing has caught my eye as of yet plus with the kitchen saga ongoing, well,,,it would be a stretch! haha...

How's the weather where you are Marjorie? Did you have all those awful storms? I know how it is for you Bonnie because I was in Guelph yesterday! LOL.. Pretty frosty here today but only a smidge of a dusting of snow so it's all good thus far.

Well..off to Sherway (Mall) to do some more shopping...I want to be all done before the REAL crowds converge.

Have a wonderful trip Marjorie, safe travels and a great Christmas to all!!!!

Byeee, Karen :wave2:

Hey ladies! :)

Gee Karen - I was in your neck of the woods yesterday and you were in mine! :)

Roared around Sherway Gardens and Square One and back home before 2:30 p.m.!

Luckily, Shayna is done exams on the 12th so we're looking forward to having her home early. We had to head out last weekend while she was home to get the "Swantek" Christmas tree cause she can't come home this weekend. It's gotta be 16' tall! We're crazy!

How's Brynna doing Marjorie? I'm sure she's excited to head back down and visit with her friends. I still check out the wdwip website and it's weird seeing all these kids posting that they've been accepted for next summer. That was us not that long ago wasn't it? Feels weird...

Anyway, gotta run youngest son to work at McDonald's. Yuck! Take care! Let's try and keep this up a bit better okay? Toodles!

Bonnie

Hey ladies. Just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We're off tomorrow morning for Vancouver where Aerosmith awaits us. I'm almost finished packing, it's just the garment bag left. We have so much luggage I'm afraid it won't fit in the car!

Yes, Brynna is very excited to be seeing her friends at WDW. She's not planning on spending every waking moment with us but hanging with them.

Well, it's late so I'm off to finish a few things and get some sleep. We'll talk next year!

Marjorie

Hey ladies! Just wanted to wish you a Happy New Year!

Looking forward to hearing all about your trip Marjorie!

It was good to see you Karen...we really enjoyed having Shanan in Guelph. Shayna was so happy to see her and was actually in a bit of a funk today...started listening to her Wishes music and bawling her eyes out! At some point those girls are going to have to get back to 'their' kingdom...as guests!

Hope you have a nice New Year's. Talk soon!

Bonnie

Wishing you Bonnie, Marjorie and your families a very Happy New Year as well!!! May it bring good health and happiness in abundance!

We went to the house party I mentioned and it was fun..still would have rather been at home but a good time was had by all.

Thank YOU for having Shanan Bonnie..she had a blast and has also been in the dumps too since coming home. Poor Kids, Disney has really made an everlasting impression hasn't it? I agree..time to go back and visit! Any plans for you this year? My neighbours have been at Diz sincec before Xmas and return tomorrow. I am eager to hear all about their time there! They did the AKL Savannah View and it was their first time there so I bet it was awesome.

Looking forward to hearing all your travels Marjorie! I am sure it was a great time. Reality sets in again now;) Are you considering that Cruise in April on Carnival btw?

Well...Shower time. I told my friends that we'll start walking some of our extra poundage off today! Ha...

See you later!
Karen:)

Wow!!

Now, I know how my mother felt when I went to Disney on the International program. That was 16 years ago and they didn't have the internet to help my mom get in touch with other Disney Int'l parents.

The girls will have the best time of their lives. Disney will never leave them. They will alway wear the disney smile!!! My husband tells everyone that my heart belongs to the mouse, he just borrows.

My daughter is 9 and she hopes to one day work at Disney too.

Hey Marjorie! Hope you're home safe and looking forward to hearing how your vacation was!

Yes, it was great to come here and be able to talk out our worries and meet new friends! Dreams do come true at Disney..I bet one day before you know it this will be you talking to Moms just like you!

Looking forward to hearing all the trip details Marjorie!
Hi Bonnie!;)

Karen

Yo ladies!

Marjorie...hoping to hear how your trip went?!

Karen...we were zooming by your neck of the woods today...drove Shayna into a job fair for Air Canada...OMG! There were over 1,000 people there and a 5 hour wait at 10 a.m.! It was a long shot at best since she's not bilingual, but still disappointing!

Talk soon!

Bonnie :)

Yoo-Hooooo Marjorie!?!?! Where are youuuu??
We want all the goods on the trip!:thumbsup2

That was some wait Bonnie! Hope it comes to fruition for Shayna! Shelby tells me she has applied as well?? Who knew? I asked her why she wasn't at the job fair (as they were both home this weekend) and she said because by the time she heard about it, she hadn't brought suitable attire home with her:confused3 We'll see...is this for Flight Attendant positions? Seems odd they would hire seasonal for that? What about the training...that's a few weeks in itself Just wondering...

Well, I am off on my Ladies cruise this coming Friday! We are in Fort Lauderdale for the weekend then the ship sails Sunday. I am away for Shanan's Birthday on the Monday which is NOT making me terrbily popular! I seldom see Shanan on the actual day as of course, she is in school...but this year because I am outta town, I am in the doggie house! Very unlikley my cell will work either soooo an e-mail will have to suffice:confused3 We did take her out this past Saturday night for dinner tho..and will see her after the trip of course. She is going away for Reading week, is Shayna? How about Brynna Marjorie? Any plans?

Well..I am TRYING to get myself organized to pack so better stop playing here!

Take Care ladies and keep warm!

Byeeeeeeeeeeeee..Karen

Great update Karen!

We didn't stick around for the interview process - a 5 hr wait was ridiculous considering she's not bilingual so it doesn't look like anything adventurous will be coming down the pipe for Shayna this summer!

Boy, you keep busy! Didn't know you had a trip coming up...how exciting!

Where's Shanan off to for reading week? We're not up to anything because the boys are still in school and we can't pull them so it will be a quiet week at home for her.

Has Shanan been looking into any amazing summer job opportunities? Shayna's already making comments about how depressed she's going to be come May 14...she's looking into golf courses and maybe working for the City, but nothing's going to compare... :(

Have a great trip and looking forward to hearing all about it!

Bonnie

Yes...all else will pale compared to Disney! I am not sure what Shanan will do...she has been perusing various Avenues..and all of them not close to here! What did I do to make her want to keep leaving??:confused3 LOL..
She talked about Sea Worold..but I think the job is pretty menial, then Dolphin Aquariums but I am not sure she fancy's the job descriptions! Always on the look for someplace warm and that she can have fun and be paid for having it!

Reading week..destination is up in the air still!! Maybe La Romana...she is going with some friends from school as well as her roomie so I am not thrilled with the whole thing! I even threw an offer of a Disney Cruise in there if she came along with us...but she feels she can't let the other friend (mainly 1) down. Darn loyalty..:rolleyes1

Shelby is going to the Mayan with her friend and her parents so I am good with that given the recent transpirings in Mexico! Terry and I are pondering perhaps someplace warm..maybe late Feb. We'll see what I see..

I am looking forward to my cruise. There are 17 of us...all women, so should be lots of laughs and fun! We have Spa days and Cocktail parties lined up and other things to keep us out (or in??) of trouble! SHopping rounds it all off too!

Take Care....I will tell you all about it when I get back!
Karen

Sorry ladies, it's been too long!

Sounds like you've been really busy since we "spoke" last and wow, Karen, another cruise, woohoo!

We had a great time away, 3 weeks is definitely enough time to forget what your normal life is like!

The cruise was pretty cool, our Royal Family Suite was pretty decent, if not a little smaller than how the pictures appear. It seemed to be big enough for the 8 of us though. Unfortunately, my DH got Norovirus the first full day on the ship! He was quarantined on Deck 3 for 48 hours so it was kind of a weird couple of days. He said he was the sickest he's ever been in his life and was so glad when he got better. Once he was feeling halfway decent though, we all had a better time. We did a Pirate Encounter in Grand Cayman and it was a hoot to see Brynna told to swab the deck with a toothbrush and then have a bucket of salt water dumped on her! She was stuck with all the kiddies, I think they may have thought she was just a youngin herself.

The WDW portion of our trip was very long. I loved it, but I'm not so sure that everyone but Brynna did! We had a lovely Wal-Mart Xmas tree set up in our room and opened gifts on Christmas morning. Xmas dinner at 'Ohana was loverly, way too much food.

Brynna had great fun hanging with her Orlando buddies. She still spent quite a bit of time with us but spent several evenings hanging out. She so didn't want to leave WDW again.

So once I got home, probably not even a week later, I was booking a trip online with Disney! We have the next cruise planned for December 16 again, as it was my "graduation" cruise from Princess, then I think we're heading to Vero Beach for 3 nights for Christmas itself, then to WDW for 8 nights, at POP, including the dining plan! I know, I'm obsessed, but then you all know that anyway!

Brynna is still waiting to hear from International at WDW, they said for her not to bother submitting her application to Cast-a-Way since they have a file on her already, and that hopefully she'll hear from them in February perhaps. She's anxiously awaiting for news that she'll get to go back this year. Me, I'm trying not to think about it and that it will be a six-month go this time :(

She has a job interview at the Jean Warehouse tomorrow so hopefully that will work for her as she hasn't had a job since Disney and I'd love to give her car payments back to her!

Not much else going on around here except it's been busy as heck at CSC, it certainly is the "wave" season. Busy too Karen?

I'm off to bed, good night ladies!

Marjorie

Hello again!

Welcome home Marjorie! Sounds like it was a wonderful time!!! You are very organized planning another trip so soon! Mind you, I used to be like that..now I wait to see what deals pop up. Getting cheap in my old (er) age! One time we stayed at the Contemp for 14 days over Christmas and New Years and around day 10 I recall seeing Terry sitting at the Cafe bar in the Lobby and he said "You know, I think we've been here too long...Mickey Mouse is beginning to look like Mickey Rat"!! Imagine?!?! Myself, I love it as does of course Shanan...and we could stay forever! Terry...well he has his limit and Shelby, well..not a fan to say the least sadly! She's into the more exotic!

That is such a shame that your hubby got sick:sick:
So they made him relocate to another deck?? Yikes! Was he in a cabin of his own? Poor guy...I am paranoid about that. Must pack lots of Purell!

Yes, cruise is coming fast! Still not packed...but it's all out on the bed pretty much ready to go. I bought a new case today..tired of the really big ones, so bought a new 25" one that expands and has those new spinner wheels?? Looks and works great..we'll see how it is in practice tho!

Hope it works out for Brynna...I know she'd love to go back asap. Shanan tells me today that she IS going back May 14th..so I guess I will also be saying goodbye! I think she is wishful thinking!! lol..

Shanan is still poking around for more excitement this summer but I think it all pales in comparison.

Yes, CSC is busy here too...though I work from home. The past few days have been nuts and this is exactly when I don't need it to be!!!! I guess once the weather turned cold here, everyone got to thinking about going someplace warm!

Well..better go toss some more things in the case!

See you ladies! Stay warm and keep well!
Karen:)

Hey ladies! :)

Marjorie...glad to finally hear about your trip! Boy that's a long time to be on vacation! My hubby could never stay away from home/work that long - would drive him crazy! :rotfl:

Please keep us posted on Brynna's progress! I've been applying all over the place for Shayna and having a few laughs along the way. There really isn't anything that can compare to being a CM is there? I keep telling her that she'd be a shew (sp?) in for a city job here working in Riverside Park running the carousel! :rotfl: I think she'd rather pitch herself off a bridge! She'd want to "Disney-fy" it and wish everyone a "magical day"! She has applied to work at a conservation area just outside town and also at African Lion Safari. She would love to work with the animals there, but has also applied to be a tour guide! It's not like being a skipper on the Jungle Cruise, but it would be fun! She was offered a job with the University for the summer helping to organize conferences, but has passed on it. It would mean she would stay in Waterloo, and I think she wants to be home for the summer. Anyway, will keep you posted on the trials and tribulations!

Karen...hope you have a great cruise! Touch base when you get back okay?

Have a great weekend ladies! :)

Bonnie
