International Brides - Question About Tuxes

How did you organise your tux rentals?

I'm looking at Carolyn Allen's site, but am finding it a little confusing. Did you just send through measurements? Did they send you fabric swatches to make sure all colours matched?

I'm not quite international, but I had a groomsman fly in only a couple days before my wedding from faaaar abroad. For him, we asked the store what measurements they would need and asked a tailor on his side to do those measurements. He just had to show up a day or so in advance to make sure all the tailoring was right. I imagine that the store would be happy to send you in swatches to make sure things are OK, but you might have to pay a fee for the fabrics and shipping.

I would e-mail Carolyn Allens all your questions - they are great and I am sure they will assist you with whatever you need. They arrange tuxedos for many bridal parties who have to travel.

Yeah I just got a reply from CA. Reads a bit like a form letter...

Most of my questions were answered in it, but they reccommended I visit my local Jim's Formalwear store to view their swatch folder... So I'm guessing my local Jim's Formalwear is about 10000 miles from here... At least...

Oh well, I might email a few JF's and see if they'll take pity on me and send me a swatch...

Yeah we went to look at things locally and all they had was a book which showed the same pictures as CA website. And no one really wanted to help us other than point to the book. Luckily we are going down for our planning session and will stop into CA.
