Internal Wait Lists

Hello,


Could one of you nice DVC veterans please tell me the policies of the "internal waitlist". I am getting conflicting info from DVC reps regarding this, some don't even know what I am talking about. I was told that if your regular waitlist doesn't become availble through DVC dept. then you can be put on this internal wait list when checking in to that select resort, my reservation is for a family member and I won't be there checking in, are my family members still eligible to go onto this list? It's for that infamous 10/25 date at the AKL, any info to help clear this up would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ahead of time.

I have not heard of this as well, would like to know if anyone had any luck changing a ressie when they got to the resort??

We had waitlisted for 2 days at VWL this past August. We had 3 nights at VWL and 2 at OKW, but wanted to stay the entire stay at VWL.....anyway our waitlist never came through, but we asked at check in. Nothing was available when we checked in, but the next day WL front desk called and said that 1 night was available and wanted to know if we wanted it, we decided that if we could not get both nights, we would just move to OKW.

Maybe that is the waitlist you are thinking about.....I did not hear it called a waitlist, and we had to ask at check in.

As changing the reservation (even last minute) would involve changes to points used with MS, the member would have to do this, I imagine. Friends, family, or renters cannot contact MS nor perform transactions unless they are Associate Members on your DVC membership.

Thanks for your replies, thanks for confirming that it does actually exist but it doesn't look good if you are not a member as one poster had described, I guess my best shot to get the one night for my mother is to call the resort directly and see if I can get a helpful CM to help me with this. Just trying to make the trip as stress free as possible.....
