Internal bus to campfire from Trails End

We're about a month out from our next visit (Woo Hoo!) We have a 5:25 ADR at Trails End one night & are wanting to take in the campfire after. We're staying at the All Stars & hoping to take a boat from the Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness.
Just curious about bus transportation - how often do the internal buses run? Will there be any issues getting to the campfire on time if we rely on the bus? How about getting back to our hotel after the movie?
We'll be taking our 4 grandkids ages 3, 4, 6, & 10, so we may not make it to the end of the movie, but I'd like to be sure just in case. I know we could drive to Fort Wilderness, but I'd really like to take the kids on the boat if we can. Any thoughts?

Getting to the movie will be easy. Hop on a bus for a few minutes.

Getting back to hotel depends on when MK closes that night. If MK closes before movie is done your choices are...
1. You have to take an internal bus to the Outpost, get on a bus to Disney Springs and transfer to an All Star bus.
2. You have to take an internal bus to the Outpost, get on a bus to the park that has late hours that night (if there is one) and transfer to an All Star bus.

Internal buses run every 10 minutes or so.

Any internal bus line will get you to the campfire. Purple and Orange lines run up Fort Wilderness Trail. Get off at the first stop and move towards the left crossing the road. There is a sidewalk that cuts across loop 600 to the bridge over the pond to the campfire.

The Yellow line runs up Big Pine Drive and you will get off at the second stop at loop 1400. Bear to the outer road on the left and it's a short walk past the Comfort Station on the left. You will see it on the left.

Ask your bus driver questions if needed and they will advise stop/walking. I think it would be great for the kids to boat over rather than drive also so I agree with you.

Next month the campfire should have flipped over to its winter 7pm start time and since TE is a buffet, you should be out in less than an hour if you are seated on time - you should be okay time wise. Leave TE, turn right and walk up to the Settlement bus depot and you can take pretty much the first available bus (Purple, Orange, Yellow). IMO the Yellow puts you closer for a shorter walk but all three lines will get you there.

Hope the weather is okay for it.

Great info, Bama_Ed. That tells me exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks!

2Goofycampers, it looks like MK has evening extra magic hours that day, so hopefully getting back to the hotel won't be a problem (although I doubt the 2 little ones will last that long, anyway...😴)

Thanks again - we're looking forward to it!

If you don't mind the added expense, you could also take a Minnie Van to get back to your resort at the end of the day. That will save a lot of time and transfers which would be helpful with several tired littles.

Did they change the Purple Route due to the constuction?

The last time I was there was when you and I met up that morning.

Not sure but I mentioned it anyway because if it was re-routed due to construction, it would go down FW Trail most likely.

Purple obviously can't go out past the Creekside Meadow group camping area with the construction of the new resort down the TCD Ranch. I had read that the bus to the Wilderness Lodge still leaves the Settlement Depot but then goes ALL the way out the front entrance of the Fort to Vista Blvd and hangs a right to get to World Drive and enter the front entrance of Wilderness Lodge.

Which makes the internal buses more of an issue to some folks than they already are.

Fundamentals still apply - when you get on an internal bus, ask the driver where it's going and where to get off for your destination if you aren't sure.

Yes, the purple route still goes through the cabin loops then goes to 2000 and Creekside, turns around and goes up Ft. Wilderness Trail making all the stops on the orange route.

Although a longer trip it somewhat improves the internal bus system by providing more buses along the Ft. Wilderness Trail portion of the route.
