Hi all,
Has anyone done the interline discount at Disney? I haven't seen much about that, but I am fairly new to the boards. I have heard of it on cruises a lot , but only the smallest hint of it for Disneyworld vacations. I would love to hear about anyone's experience with it.
Regards,
Jay

Believe those are specific travel discounts for airline employees only. :confused3

Yes, when we are not using our DVC, we often use interline rates. They aren't always available, but when they are, they are really good! You will need to fax a copy of proof of employment just after booking a reservation, and bring your ID with you when you checkin.

Jay,

We've used my dad's (airline employee) interline benefits for our last 2 trips. This year I got a pin--and took over the plans.

(Previously my parents traveled with us) It gave us roughly a 40% discount (I've heard it used to be 50% in the past). They do have to book it as a package --you get mini golf tickets included---so the package rules apply. Availability can vary, so some resorts are not easy to get into. I believe you can book 2 rooms with the discount (we did), I'm not sure about more than 2.

There's a special number for interline reservations (407 828 3111---I think). Regular reservation line does not book interline discounts.

I used it many times when I was an airline employee. I believe we got 50% off. The last time I used it was 3 years ago and at that time you could not add on the dining plan because it was a discounted room. And, be prepared to fax in proof of employment!

Thanks for the info everyone. I will give it a try and report back.
Jay

I have booked interline rates for most of my trips. They are room discounts only (with a mini perk added, such as 1 mini golf per person). The discount varies according to value, off-peak and peak..and is limited in availability.
The dining plan cannot be added to the interline rates...I'm still waiting and check regularly for it.
I have found that it is much less expensive to book a package with free dining or if you are lucky enough to get a pin code for 40% off and pay for dining.....it, literally, cut my food bill in half.
If you are a passholder or Florida season ticket holder you cn also book a room discount/package with dining too.

Well, I called up the # and found out that employees of the large purple colored express company that used to sponsor space mountain are not eligible for the interline discounts...
So, I'll just have to wait for some other deal to come along.

Don't feel bad Jay - for many years it was a great perk but with the general public discounts Disney has been throwing out lately (free dining) you can do just as well, sometimes even better.

That's exactly why I haven't used the interline discounts for the last 2 years...The dining plan, which you can't get with interline rates (Yet) make all the difference in your final trip cost. I love the dining plans :thumbsup2
Of course, we are going to use an interline rate and start our trip a day early, but we aren't going to the parks that day..we're just going to swim and rest up before we start the really fun stuff...so the interline rate is benefits us for one day this trip. The for the rest of the week, we have the free dining package.
