Interline discount

Has anyone everyone gotten an interline discount on a DCL cruise?

My step-son works for an airline and we have Mom & Pop passes. I've seen on some travel sites that interline discounts are offered.

Does anyone have any experience with them? Are you limited to what type of stateroom you can get?

We've just completed our first DCL cruise and we just can't stop talking about it. We're trying to figure out how our budget will allow us to take more cruises - faster.

Any insight will be appreciated!

They've been somewhat rare, but I have seen them. This summer was the first time I've ever noticed a summertime Interline discount from Disney.

Also, as a note, my experience has been the free flying passes don't work so well for flying to your cruise embarkation point. The airlines flying to the port airports are simply too busy right before and right after cruise days.

EDIT: For an inside stateroom, these prices don't strike me as all that great. The "govt fees and taxes" from my March 4 day cruise were about $129 per person. 349 + 129 = 527 which is greater than the cat. 11 price offered by allseastravel.com. However, the discount on a oceanview or balcony room seems to be better. Allseastravels.com for a 4 day balcony is around $800-$900 per person.

"What's an Interline discount?"

Interline discounts are available to active and retired employees of accredited airlines and their family members (depends on the travel provider). Also included are employees of Airborne Express, DHL, FedEx, UPS and sometimes FAA, NATCA, and Amtrak.


My sister used to work for Delta. My dad was a cruising-fool when she was actively employed.

I agree with smchan...you'll likely need to buy your airline tickets to get to MCO.

Thanks! I'll take a look and see what I can find.

Hopefully, it will be more rewarding than flying on our passes. We have passed on the "joy" of using our passes for flights lately. Something about waiting standby for six hours can take part of the "deal" out of it...

From what I understand about interline rates with DCL, the employee has to travel with your party. My DH works for an airline & DCL & interline agencies have told me I can't sail without him. This regulation is different than other cruise lines. What a bummer, I can't cruise & send him to work.
