Interesting Spiderman Ride rip-off

It's called Marvel Adventure City.

I'm not sure how you think it's a rip-off.

You don't think it resembles IOA's at all? Both are part dark ride/part 1st person movie, where the vehicles move on a track in addtion to rotating. Both themes involve the riders "helping out" Spiderman, both begin in the Ghetto while the film part later captures the NYC skyline, Jonah Jameson blabbering at the beginning, the police sirens, the truck driver, Daily Bugle front page billboard, Scorpion breaking through a brick wall, Electro shocking everyone, Doc Ock, Green Goblin throwing a fireball, not to mention the style of the closing music. Sorry I didn't go in alphabetical order. Yeah most of these are in the original Marvel story, but so are a lot of other ideas that could have been used.

Ignoring specifics, I think the basic flow and direction of this ride are startlingly similar to Uni's.

I understand all of that.

How about this

and from that link you can see this very important detail about 'Marvel Adventure City'

"Marvel's Adventure City is being created by Forrec, the same company that designed LEGOLAND and Marvel's popular Super Hero Island at Universal Studios Orlando Theme Park's Islands of Adventure"

I wasn't saying the Niagara Falls park illegally stole the ride concept. I realize they are both official Marvel enterprises. I'm just saying it's pretty obvious the attraction designers modeled their ride after IOA's and created what definitely looks like a poor man's Amazing Adventures of...

Looks to me like MIB, with a Spidey theme and storyline closely approximating Uni's Spidey attraction, set to the Danny Elfman soundtrack of the Spidey movies.

I'm sure the ride designers were heavily influenced by both IOA's Spidey ride and USF's MIB ride.

So what?

rip-off (rĭp'ôf', -ŏf')
n. Slang.

Definition: Something, such as a film or story, that is clearly imitative of or based on something else.

Nobody had to steal anything for it to be labeled a rip-off. This was entertaining though. I imagine this is what your average ignorant Disney fan thinks Universal's ride looks like.

Now if you want a spiderman rip-off, you can technically look to Darkastle at Busch Gardens Europe.

So what?

That is exactly what I thought...MIB :cool2: meets :charac4: .......

I DO think Universal's is MUCH better tho.....::yes::

yep....I'd agree with that statement also.......::yes::...

Even if it is a rip-off, I'm always excited to see other places doing rides like this, the more the merrier as far as I'm concerned.

I see far more similarities to MIB and even Buzz Lightyear than to the 4D Spiderman at IOA.

Of course the stories are similar....they were created by the same company about the same character! Everybody knows Spiderman lives in NYC, and we all know who his enemies are...who else would he be battling in the ride??

I think it looks like a pretty good attraction. It definately is more interactive and has more of a story than MIB or Buzz.

How so? It doesn't even look that interactive to me. It tells people what to shoot, but chances are it goes through the motions regardless of whether they actually do it.
