Kara is returning so they will still have three. Think she was ticked about the huge money Simon and Seacrest got.

Should make for a different feel this year.

I saw this coming when they hired Kara. Paula made a glaring error one show when she critiqued a singer for a song he hadn't even sung yet. Then, later when he did sing, she said the exact same thing as though she had memorized it. It was obvious she was high or something. But that kind of error made the show and their prepared responses instead of "spontaneous" critiques lose credibility. I knew she was on her way out then. I'm sure the producers are gracefully letting her say it was her decision, in the same way Barbara Walters let Starr Jones say it was her decision to leave The View.

She sat between two strong Alpha male judges and gave the female viewpoint. Even the host is male.


That's why they brought in Kara (female) in to replace her.

I'm a bit sad about Paula not returning. But in the past couple of years I have found to be sort of annoying. I thought Kara was annoying a few times this season. I really wish Randy was off the show.

I think she (unwittingly) brought humor to the show. If they weren't showing us the really horrible tryouts, at least we had Paula. Seriously, I'll miss her just because I thought she was so weird.

I think Simon and Paula make the show fun and interesting. Can live without the other two.

I must be in the minority it seems, but I LIKE Kara. I am indifferent about Paula leaving, personally. Howver I'm suprised by it and think it's a bone-head move for her (she wsa NOTHING before Idol and will likely go back to nothing after). She really detracted from the performers (tired of her "banter" with Simon).

Entertainment Weekly reported that she was killed when she was hit by a car. I think it happened sometime last week.

DId she decide to leave or did Idol not offer her a contract? Personally I think she got the boot and she's trying to save face.

I think she's useless anyway - as is Kara IMO.

MTE. I'm not the biggest fan of the show, but I liked the interaction between her and Simon. There was something sweet about Paula that I liked. Kara is just plain annoying.
