We rebooked on Aug. 22 while on board. I was checking for cat and was told there were no cat 6 available for the date I wanted. Today I checked the DCL site and there are cat 6 available. Are they only allowing so many cabins to be filled with the lower rates while on board? The cruise we booked was $500 less then the site now gives, plus the $200 on board credit. But the price is still $400 more then last year, booked same time frame, and this year was the western which was higher. $1100 more then in 2000 for the eastern, same time frame booked.

Don't know how many people are in your party, but maybe the cat. 6's that are left don't fit 4 people. Just a thought, if it even pertains to you.

A little off topic, but does anyone know the date the rates officially change from year to year? I'm not talking about specials during slow times, I am wondering about the normal rates for same time of year, same cat, that sort of thing. Thanks!

When I booked last thursday on the Magic she was explaining that DCL prices are on a 12 tier system. The lowest rate will be when the date for booking comes out and as a percentage of the ship is filled the rates go up. I know that does not answer your question, but really I don't think the rates have changed that much. Because the price for a 4 day cruise on some dates is no higher then it was in 2000 when we went on a 4 day.
