Has anyone gotten these nicer non-alcoholic beverages on the DxDP or DDP? Not looking at the Coke fountain products, but rather other refreshments. Thanks!

- Agua Fresca or a Jarritos at Hacienda de San Angel?

- Agua fresca at Via Napoli?

- Orangina or Lemonade (Lorina) at Chefs de France?

- Fresh Lemonade, aranciata or limonata at Tutto Italia?

- Any other non-alcoholic beverage?

At Via Napoli in March we were told that the Aqua Fresca was not part of the plan :sad2:

Short answer, probably not because the restaurants you listed are not operated by Disney so they tend to adhere more closely to the guidelines of the dining plans. While non-alcoholic, the drinks you chose are not fountain drinks.

If you are at a Disney operated restaurant some people have reported that they were able to get milkshakes, smoothies and non-alcoholic versions of some drinks.

We have had lemonade and iced tea on the dining plan - shakes and smoothies also (Sci Fi and Coral Reef come to mind).

I have been able to get a nice raspberry smoothie at Kona on the DDP. While you don't get refills, it is a nice alternative to soda.

:yay:

Do keep in mind the actual wording is "non-alcoholic beverage"...it does not say "ANY non-alcoholic beverage" though many people think it should be that way. However, the items you're listing above are all at non-Disney restuarants (and most have very high prices, too--much higher than the cokes & ice tea type beverages they do offer.) So the short answer on this list above is : NO, you will not be allowed any of these at these restaurants. At the non-Disney restaurants, you will find very little flexibility on the plans...they contract with Disney for a set amount per meal component, so they're not going to cut their profits by allowing higher priced items if they don't have to. You will be allowed only Coca-cola soda fountain drinks, tap water, regular coffee or regular ice tea. There is virtually no flexibility at the non-Disney Restaurants. Other restaurants on this no-flexibility list would include Yak & Yeti at AK, and Wolfgang Puck Cafe in DTD.

At the Disney-owned restaurant, you'll find a lot more flexibility..."virgin" beverages like pina-colada without the alcohol, smoothies, and milkshakes are allowed at a lot of places. We've had them at Kona Cafe, Le Cellier, Turf Club, Sci Fi, and The Wave.

Yes, I have been offered "nicer" drinks at the Disney-owned restaurants (like 50's and LC), but I was wondering about all those non-Disney owned restaurants in Epcot. It sounds like it's a no-go, and that's fine. We usually get wine with dinner, but I was trying to make a decision on lunch and if any of them were more flexible, that would probably sway me in that direction. I still have an unstructured Epcot day for September that I need to firm up pronto!

How do you know if the restaurant is Disney owned or not? I ask so that I can know before going in what I might be able to get or not....

The following Epcot pavilions' restaurants are not Disney-operated:

Mexico
China
Italy
Japan
Morocco
France (there was some information out awhile back that Chefs de France is now operated by Disney. Not sure if it is accurate or not. It did not start out being operated by Disney. Bistro de Paris is not operated by Disney.)

Also, Yak & Yeti and Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom.

The only restaurant at Downtown Disney that IS operated by Disney is Cap'n Jack's. The only Disney-operated CS at DTD is the one inside Disney Quest. The others are all third-party operated.
