I called to check on prices for the NC resident discount and free dining at POR last week. Today, I got an email with a PIN code and a note that said:

"Enjoy better rates if you've got flexible dates! Click to see how you can save 20%* on most nights during these select dates." When you click, you get the following list of dates...

Oct 19 - Nov 1, 2008
Nov 9 - 15, 2008
Jan 4 - 15, 2009
Jan 25 - Feb 12, 2009
Mar 1 - 14, 2009
May 31 - June 6, 2009
Aug 23 - Oct 3, 2009
Oct 25 - 31, 2009
Nov 15 - 21, 2009
Nov 29 - Dec 5, 2009
Dec 13 - 24, 2009

Even more interesting, when you scroll to the Mar 1 -14 date, a blurb about the PPP comes up.

Anyone else gotten this? Some of these dates are during peak season.
It's too late to call tonight and see what's up, so I guess I'll call in the morning.

I got a great CM this morning. However, she said she had never seen a set of dates like these. Also, when she checked that PIN didn't come up anywhere. She said that for the last few months, all PIN have been issued on Thursdays, so to try back tomorrow that she thought I had accidentally been sent the email early and that it would register tomorrow.

Interestingly, she said that when you call the number listed on those offers, like I did, it automatically shows on their computers that you are calling about a PIN offer and gives them a code to use to find your offers. But the code it gave her when I called in was for this year's dates only.

Also, she said my name was in the computer about 20 times and each of my kids were in there 7 or 8 times so she had to check under every instance of my name to see if she could find the PIN number. This might explain why sometimes when we call and there is no PIN and then you get a new CM who finds one. It may be that we are all in the computer multiple times and some CMs just check under one of those names.

Strange, huh?

There is a NC resident discount? I must have missed that! Can you explain further? A pin code or something? We did get a pin code back in the spring that we used for our upcoming Dec trip. But willing to try anything to save a few dollars.

Thanks,
Kelly

That would be great! Already booked for Nov. 30-Dec. 4 2009, but I'll gladly take 20 % off. Luckily, I get PIN codes often, so here's hoping. :)

It was a regular PIN code wasn't it? Or was it tied to you being a NC resident?

Checked the GTI code for kicks this morning and Poly was available for our stay (10/21 - 10/26) for $331 at Poly. It never was available when I checked before for our full time period. It will be our first time at a deluxe with mom, dad, and 8 year old. Granted, not a super great deal, but at least we get to stay at the same place for all of our days.

I will keep our eyes open for any offers that come out before our trip for our time period. It had been slim pickings up until this point.

It seems that the area of the site where you view your current reservations is down on the Disney site.

Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina Resident Room-Only Discounts

Check-in dates: 9/28/08-12/23/08. (Some dates may be blacked out.) Use code GTI.

You must book by 9/27/08. There are a limited number of rooms available at these rates. This offer is only available to residents in the following states: Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Proof of residency is required.

Our rate for 2 adults and 3 kids in a trundle room at POR for 4 nights was $120/night or $540 after tax and all (12/13 - 12/18).

Good luck! You have to book by Saturday.

Oh I hope a public or Canadian one comes up -we are going Jan 4-10.
Then again...I hope it doesn't - so the parks are less crowded :)

Our trip is for Jan 16-24th. :sad1:

There were black outs for MLK weekend this year, so I expect the same blackouts for 2009. Our dates are Jan 17-24 and fully expect to see no discounts after watching the 2008 offers (or lack of ones). I would love to see a discount during my timeframe, but not counting on it.

I got the same email and list of dates, so if it did go out "too early," then it sounds like it went to everyone too early.

Have you tried to book anything? Just wondering what response you got. I got the same email again today. When I called tonight, the CM found the PIN but said it was only good for dates thru Dec 13 of this year and that since it had been out since February, there was no availability left at any resorts for December under that offer.

No, I haven't tried to book anything. I just saw it in my email tonight, after getting home from work. That is why I logged in here, to see if anyone knew the specifics about it.

The time on the email says 12:17 PM today. So it came middle of the day today.

Mine has a picture of CSR on it and says, "We’re excited you’re thinking about a stay at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort....

Book now to complete your vacation plans! Or, click here to view other dates and accommodations."

Now, just a couple days ago (over the weekend?), I'd been on the Disney site pricing out CSR vacations. Mostly pricing a May 2009 trip, but I priced one October 2009 trip.

The email has the October dates I was toying with listed on it.

Guess I'll call tomorrow and see what's up. :confused3

Are the phone lines open any time, or do you need to call between certain times?

That is awesome that you could get a special code for living in one of those states, but I have to ask, why just those 4 states? Do they have other codes that apply to other states?

Awesome rate!!! Gives me hope for those January rates.
Did anyone call and get an AKL rate on this by chance? I might upgrade if the price is right!
