Interesting Coming Out Stories

I know this isn't Disney related but does anyone have any interesting coming out stories about either yourself or someone you know? I just came out to my parents (well, they found out and then asked me...) and I thought it was going to go terribly because they're conservative Christians, but it went much better than I thought it would. Although they don't completely understand it yet, it's going fine. I just love hearing other people's stories! So interesting! Thanks!

I took a year off (sort of involuntarily) between college and medical school, and was living at home. I went off to work one morning and accidentally left my bottom dresser drawer open. Suffice it to say what Mom found was not Playboy. When I got home, my parents were waiting for me at the dining room table (Dad usually worked later than I did). I spouted some nonsense about "figuring things out," and not really knowing yet.

Both my parents are New York Jewish Democrats, but Dad's usually the stricter and more conservative; to my surprise, he had an easier time dealing with it. He made me promise that I was not doing (and would not do) anything to put my health or the family's health at risk (this was 1992, we didn't know nearly as much then). Mom could barely look at me for a few days.

Over the intervening years, they've both made their peace with it, and my boyfriends have been welcomed into the family with open arms. These days, I sometimes think David talks to my mother more than I do.

that's pretty much what happened to me. they found out then asked me but it was quite obvious from an early age i was destined to be a 'mo
