Interesting article

When we booked the CM explained to us that the prices differ so much because DLRP has a different budget for discounts etc assigned for each country.

The German budget is very small. I think the two biggest are for the French and UK visitors. Moreover it is different for what the budget is used: sometimes they think it is better to provide free dining instead of room discounts.

But what the article does not say is that you as a customer in the EU are free to book your stay at DLP using any offer running in any territory. UK customers can book a trip on the Irish, French or Dutch sites and take advantage of any offer running on them.

You can also book your accomodation via third party companies on a room only deal as well.

I can't see Euro Disney changing it. It's a company that needs to trade and make money like all the rest. It has budgets to spend in each country on offers to attract guests to stay at it's resort. It the prices were flat all year around and there were no offers there would not be an enticement to attract visitors.

Flash Sales for example give customers a sense of urgency, the need to book, the need to think they are making a great saving. 'Wow I just saved £500 on my Disneyland Paris holiday using the 2 nights 2 days free offer". - Great says the company now don't forget to spent 1,000 Euros when your here on gifts and food - thank you!

It's all marketing - heads on beds and footfall through the Park gates.

No point advertising geat offers to customers in Spain or Greece as it would be a waste of your advertising budget due to the economic recession both countires are in at the moment.

DLP will be pulling out all the stops over the next few months advertsing the new Ratatouille ride in France to get more day visitors to the parks during the summer months.

DLP markets it self as a short break resort, three nights four days is the standard booking for UK visitors. Or two nights three days for the rest of europe within easy traveling distance to the resort.

I think the offers are fair, and if you shopped around, like most people and do the maths savings can be made.

A similar article was printed in the Sun newspaper a few weeks back but they interviewed someone who stated you can book from any deal, its the same as what was on Watchdog a few years back and Disney stated people are welcome to book under any deal.
