Interested in Europe Disney cruise, but have 2 concerns

I would do the Mediterranean over the North Atlantic, particularly the one that ventures out to Iceland, to avoid the possibility of seasickness.

I can only speak for the Med Cruise, but they are so port intensive, it is so unlike the Caribbean cruises. You're waking up early and getting back to go to dinner.
You'll have a great time. It's also easy to plan excursions by yourself taking the train into the city. Buy the Rick Steves book

We sailed to Norway, Iceland & Scotland on the Magic in 2018 with our 21yo DD. It was a fabulous trip. There was one night when it was a bit rough - I went to bed early that night and it was find in the morning. It was a port intensive cruise, and we did our best to make the most of each port, so it's not like a Caribbean cruise where you're more dependent on the ship for entertainment. On the few days at sea we had, DD worked out at the gym, participated in a few things like trivia and draw Mickey, and rested with a book. There wasn't much downtime on that vacation so what little we had we enjoyed. There are entertainers in the evenings, the 1820 Society if he wants to meet others his age, and plenty to do and see. Combined with a few days at both the starting and ending ports and we had a 3 week vacation without the hassle of getting from one place to another. We've been to Europe a few times without taking a cruise but this was my favorite trip so far.

We are a family of 4, and we all love Disney, with the exception of my son who is in college... Is there any thing on the ship that would appeal to a 20 year old guy?

Your 20 yr old has access to all the adult areas--so he can go to the gym, adult only pool/hot tubs, lounges, etc--he just can't buy alcohol.

Well, that's not quite true. For closed-loop cruises in Europe, DCL allows alcohol purchases for guests 18-20 years old, with parental permission.

On our Magic cruise in the Mediterranean, consistent with that policy, my 20-year-old son could not buy alcohol, but could drink alcohol while he was with a parent. So, with the waiver, he could share a bottle of wine with us at Palo, but couldn’t buy a drink while he was with his friends and not us.

We are a family of 4, and we all love Disney, with the exception of my son who is in college, and is very ready to travel abroad and do a non Disney vacation. We have been to Europe once, had a great trip, but I planned every aspect of it - itinerary, transportation, hotel, etc. I would really like to not do that this time.

Is there any thing on the ship that would appeal to a 20 year old guy?

Other concern: husband loves the idea of this trip, but gets incredibly sea sick on small boats. Any input from people with experience on this would be appreciated.
