Interactive Magic Band

Is there a release date for the new interactive Magic Band? I know it's supposed to be released in 2022. I'm hoping it will be available for my February trip.

I am with you and also going in Feb. This late in the year, announcing the date of "Sometime in 2022" is meaningless to me. Those bands are supposed to interact with the 50th statues so I'd hope before the 50th celebration is over. I ended up getting DD a plain magic band and a Star Wars skin from etsy. If it comes out before our trip and isn't too expensive, we'll get her one and DH can use the skin.

No, but a press announcement is one thing, marketing it on the website is another. Unless I missed it, they just put this page up in the last few days. I'm thinking it is close, but what do I know

I just went out this week to order magic bands for our trip, and the selection has gone down ALOT. so maybe this is some indicator that the new ones are going to be released soon? maybe ? We aren't going until September, so I'm holding off on ordering to see if maybe these will be released.....

The selection of available MagicBands is likely being affected by a ongoing global shortage of computer chips.

There is no word yet on the magic band + Im trying to hold out before our trip as well

I suspect it is this same shortage behind why these have not yet appeared. I'm going in July and would like to get them but with the rising cost of EVERYTHING Disney I think we might just use our old ones and save the money.

Agree, even if they offer an introductory price, I imagine the cheapest new Magic Band Plus would be $50 or more

I came here looking for the reason for the lack of magic band choices for my daughter's upcoming trip. There is only one plain band choice at the moment. My daughter called yesterday and waited for 1 1/2 hours to be told by two CM's that they didn't know why there were no choices.

The selection changes daily, usually on 20 bands with one or two plain. Try every day and see what they swap out.
