Hi I was wondering what kind of insurance anyone has gotten on here. Also which do you consider to be good or bad. And where does Disney get theres.

I am by no means an expert on travel insurance, but there have been some very informative threads in the past. If you do a search, you should find a lot of information.

We used Travelex, and were really glad we did. I think the charge was $194 for the four of us - 7 day Magic. We almost missed the ship and would have been required to board in St. Maarten. The insurance company would have arranged for us to get there and for accomodations in the mean time. As it was, we made the ship, but our luggage did not. DCL flew the luggage to St. Maarten, Delta Airlines reimbursed us for $300 for items we had to purchase (clothing, etc.) until our luggage arrived. Travelex reiumbursed us the balance of what we spent. In essence we got all of our souveniers that way.

I think DCL uses Travelex, but it is a lot cheaper to purchase it on your own. Also, if you don't purchase the insurance within a certain time period of when you book your trip, there are some limitations on coverage for pre-existing conditions.

We got insurance with Access America on our own. Called them directly and within a short while was confirmed thru e-mail. We received the actual policy in the regular mail a few days later.

We've always bought through DCL. We actually used it on our 2nd trip. It was with Access America. If I remember right, the ships medical center gave us the form to fill out, then we contacted access america when we got back and dealt directly with them.

We purchased directly from DCL. We didn't use it, but there were 2 bus loads of folks who did, and their flights arrived late. They held the ship for 45 minutes for those folks. I swear one of the buses squealed it's tires coming into the port it was going so fast.
They missed lunch, they missed the sail away party, but they didn't miss the boat. Funny watching 50 or 60 people with carryon bags run through the terminal and onto the ship!!!

first cruise we went with DCL insurance.

I have been checking insuremytrip.com and found that Travelex is the best insurance for us for our upcoming cruise. Travelex lite has all the coverage I am looking for and is very reasonable in cost. So that is what we will be going with. Good luck.

I cannot tell the difference between the different levels of insurance offered by a single company. For example CSA Silver is $234 and CSA Web direct $156. It appeats that every level of coverage is identical! Help please !!!

I just bought the CSA Web Direct for my family. It was $136 for four of us on the Wonder. It seemed to have everything I need. We already have medical insurance which we can use in a foreign country. What I am mostly interested in is reinbursement in the event we had to cancel due to illness of a traveler or a family member and we can't travel. I am also very interested in the amount available for Medical Evacuation. This could be very costly if you ever needed it. I did not insure the air portion of the trip because we are on Southwest and Spirit and those airlines allow you to change for either no charge or $25. We are traveling the day before the trip, so I'm hopeful that we will get there in time.

Anyway, I took the CSA and am hoping I don't have to use any of it!!!!

I cast my vote for Travelex too! Something my eternally optimistic husband (haha...) wanted was insurance coverage that would reimburse us for the entire trip amount in the event that he was laid off from his job. As far as our travel agent knew, Travelex was the only option. We too purchased it ourselves by calling the company directly (as our TA didn't work through Travelex) and we only paid $100 for our family of 4.

At www.insuremytrip.com they list all the insurance companies and their prices.

I have gone with Access America in the past and they were great (reimbursed us from the hurricane cruise)....but for our upcoming 9 days in Florida with a 3 day cruise thrown in in January, I think I am going with CSA this time. They were $100 cheaper than Access America and looked to have all the coverage I was looking for.

I added up all the expenses for our trip, car rental, hotels, airfare, cruise and put that total amount in for a quote. It was $136 for our family of 5 compared to $228.00 with Access America.
