Insurance Question

I was in the Hurricane Zone (Rita) and I have been denied getting my roof replaced my Insuarance carrier. People all around me are getting theirs replaced.

While it appears to be in good shape It did have damage and I have had several roofing companies tell me it will not withstand another storm.

BTW, the roof is 10 years old.

DO I have any recourse?

can you appeal, citing your neighbors who are getting new roofs as examples?

My sister lives in MD and I know there was a really bad storm that involved hail and damaging wind. every house on the block seemed to be getting a new roof, covered by their insurance company, but her's said no. She appealed citing her neighbors as examples and she ended up getting her roof.
