I just wanted some feedback on who all get insurance on the scooters they rent? I have rented scooters in the past, but have never taken out insurance. I was thinking about trying Apple Scooters, and noticed they offered insurance. Probably all of them do and I have just forgotten.
Thanks,

I don't rent scooters (I bring my own from home), but if I did I would take it out. It is kind of a piece of mind knowing that if someone stole it or something happened to it I would not have to pay to replace it.

I think that I have read somewhere that it was around $25 for insurance and that sounds darn cheap to me, considering it would cost around $1000+ to replace.

When I saw the title I first thought that you were talking about trying to insure your personal scooter. That can be very difficult to do. I had a heck of a time trying to get mine insured.

peemagg, thanks for replying back. I guess I should have been a little more clear in my title. Your right that is very cheap for insurance. I just didn't think I had ever been offered it before. Since I was looking at Apple Scooters and they offered it, I was just checking to see if others had taken out the insurance on the scooters they had rented. This is the only time I use a scooter is when we go to Disney World. I sometimes use them at Walmart. I just can't take all of the walking or standing anymore more.
Thanks again for answering me. :goodvibes

Food for thought - last time I rented a scooter, the metal band around the base started coming off (not my fault, but I 'fixed' it with clear tape, whatever was holding it down let loose :)) and one armrest got torn - my fault because I keep forgetting to put the armrests down once I'm seated. I offered to pay for a new arm, but the company rep was very nice about it and told me "it happens". They also wanted to know how I did it, because I guess they get scooters back with arm damage and no explanation.

The last time I took my mom to WDW we did get the insurance and we also got it for our upcoming trip (less than a week away:cool1:). We used Walker's Mobility both times. I just feel better having it. You never know what may happen.
