Hiya Julie
Last week i took out an annual worldwide policy for myself and my husband, i have just had surgery for a on going problem (non life threatening) which is classed as a pre existing medical condition and we were charged £99 which i was more than impressed with this was with www.direct-travel.co.uk, they are underwritten by AIG, and found the actual policy to be very comprehensive.
Hope this helps

I also reccomend the same one that Alibaba has suggested, my mum has epilepsy and breast cancer and they were by far the best for her, she even had to make a claim, and they dealt with it with no problems whatsoever.:goodvibes

Thankyou both, I will ring them both tomorrow. :)

Thanks for posting these links, my Mom has high BP and takes a million pills for it so I need to sort her insurance too. :)

Hi
Both DW & DS have conditions and we were able to get them both covered on our annual holiday cover which is included on our house policy at no extra cost. All we had to do was get a letter from their doctor stateing they were in a stable condition.

Hope this helps

I found that Tesco were very good with DD's heart condition. The total premium (including extra to include her condition) was less than others wanted as an additional premium to include her condition!!

I found the policy to be comparable to others.

I am diabetic with medication and Virgin did a great deal on insurance for the year. They qouted over the phone.

Thanks for the responses, will let 'the wife' know later.

Try Fortis, they helped us out and were decently priced. We had quotes for £1000+ and then Fortis came in at £90 !!

I used the post office. I had a heart attack at the age of 35 (jan this year) and was finding insurance hard to get. The post office were great. Just phoned them up and told them all the details and they sent me a form to sign.

The premium was 85 pounds plus the 25 pounds normal premium.:thumbsup2

Hope this helps

Thanks again everyone - I will tell Julie there have been further updates.

Johnny (not Julie). ;)

www.insureandgo.com - we used them last month and got a good price. We couldn't book using the online system as it wouldn't let us enter DD's age (10 months!) but a quick phone call and we were sorted out. HTH :)

Another thumbs up for insureandgo ! I was struggling to get insurance for us as i had a childhood cancer but these actually have a section for different rates of severity in the pre existing medical conditions.

We've used an insurance brokers called J D Consultants before to get insurance to take my Mother in Law, in her late 70's and has many medical complaints, including a heart condition. They managed to get a really good price for us with a specialist company.

They don't have a website to my knowledge, but their phone number is 01689 856 984.

Hope that helps

Many thanks for the recommendation for direct-travel insurance - got annual trip ins. for me and DH with his various complaints, arthritis, oesteoporosis, blood pressure for £120.
Very helpful on the phone and much better than M&S, they decided they wanted to speak to DH after 10 mins - if they`d said that at first I wouldn`t have wasted anyones time.

Another vote for Direct Travel, £176 for 5 of us. Mum & Dad both have high blood pressure & take medication, however, they would not cover my condition (breast cancer) as I'm still having treatment, but would still cover me for anything not relating to BC. Other companies were quoting me in excess or £2500 for just me! and others would not even insure me.
