I just read their terms and conditions which you must agree with before renting from them on the website.

It specifically states insurance coverage for scooters will be included only for 2011. There's no indication of what will happen in 2012, either. Just be aware this will not be included and you are totally responsible for whatever happens to the scooter including if it was stolen or whatever; unless, you get insurance.

For the people that use this company I went to the site and got this. Here is what the terms and conditions say: 5. Renter is responsible for the mobility equipment unless Lost and Damage Insurance is purchased (Lost and Damage Insurance is included in the rental rates during the promotional period of 2011), Other times, Renter will reimburse Apple Scooter Inc. for the full cost of replacement upon demand for any damage, loss, theft, or destruction of the mobility equipment. The Renter understands and authorizes that Apple Scooter Inc. will charge the credit card used for any repair costs or the replacement costs of the mobility equipment.

They are one of the only companies that automatically add it to your order and when I called to ask about the change they said due to changes in law they will not be able to " force" people to purchase the insurance, but can only offer it. We do not need this service yet, but hat is something very helpful to note for the people that regularly use this company. They also said that in 2012 when adding the then optional insurance the total should be about the same as it is now.

I booked with them a few weeks ago before seeing this thread, but I did notice that the website was saying that insurance was included, but the contract said for 2011.

I called for clarification and Alex sent me an email stating that insurance was included for 2012 and they would be correcting the web site.

(For those of you that used Apple, did you just leave it with bell services when you checked out? )
