My friends little boy, Joseph 18months, has recently had Luekemia. He is fully recovered and just has to pass the scheduled tests that he'll be put through to ensure ongoing negative results.

They are considering going to Orlando on holiday, possibly this November, but are aware insurance for Joseph will be pricey.

Can anyone give me a nudge in the direction of insurance companies who won't fleece them?

Many thanks.

I had luekemia 9 years ago, and found it difficult to find resonable price cover that would cover the condition in case it reoccured.

The best companies I found were Age Concern (you don't have to be a OAP to use them - I'm 28!) and Columbus travel

On average it costs me around £200 for anual cover, or around £140 for a 2 week trip.

That's way less than other companies though. Most places either exclude cover for the condition, or want to charge around £600!!!!! :scared1:

A bit different, but still related :thumbsup2

Both of my parents have various medical conditions. My dad is prone to blood clots and has had a few in the past and has Churg Strauss syndrome (a type of neurological disorder). My mum has polymyositis (a sort of inflammatory muscle disorder where the body is attacking it's own muscles). Now while these aren't leukaemia, they were finding it difficult to find affordable travel insurance due to the possibility that their conditions "flare up".

They did in the end find an insurance company called "Fortis" - they are very good and affordable, and my parents use them again and again. They had to claim once in the past due to ill health, and had no problems with this either.

I hope your friends find something suitable - a trip to WDW sounds just like what they need :goodvibes

HTH! :thumbsup2

Fortis are the company that underwrite the Age concern policy I mentioned (though for some strange reason whenever I've got a quote from Fortis direct before they have quoted more than Age concern :confused3)

Ah right, sorry - I didn't realise that :thumbsup2

I'm also looking for insurance to cover my DH who was diagnosed with lymphoma last year. I've just tried Travelbility and Columbus to see what their quotes were like for 16 days cover in Oct: Travelbility quoted £208 and Columbus £48, both including the condition.
I think it goes to show that you need to shop around as both sites asked different questions about his condition and treatment. I was expecting around the £200 mark, so the Columbus quote is very good news! :woohoo:
A dose of Orlando magic will be just the tonic for your friend's little boy!
