Has anyone ever heard of or used an insulated backpack? I was planning on bringing a backpack and soft sided cooler or our food and drinks. Someone told me about this. Was wondering if anyone has tried it and how much they could carry.
I have so much to take! I can't figure out how people get away with just a fanny pack. Me..I pack everything!

Thanks!

I took a mountainsmith fanny pack - it is very cushioned and would privide a goo deal of insulation - not sure it is actually made for that purpose - it is a mountain climbing fanny pack - very rugged - very sturdy - very padded - cost a good chunk of change

It held a sony TRV33miniDV camcorder, a kodak preview camera aps camera, ponchos, wallets, two water bottles, a mister, extra batteries, 3 extra films, 3 extra video cartridges, passes, a 40 page print out of rides and shows at the park, all the park maps, breath freshener, mole skin, cigarettes, lighter, pens, a small flashlight, baggies, bubble wrap, itineraries (ps's)... it is a honking fanny pack... can be worn as a backpack, fanny pack, carried by a sling over the shoulder or carried by handles like a case. It is not a full backpack though - check backpacking stores, or mountaineering stores

I bought an insulated backpack at babies r us . Now before you say anything...... it's a dark green eddie bauer backpack. It's being sold as a diaper bag but it does not look like one. I repeat it DOES NOT look at all like a diaper bag. It has the insulation you would expect in a diaper bag but looks like a regular backpack. My DH picked it out (because he's wearing it) and believe me he would not where a diaper bag:o
Just a thought....oh, I think it was around $30...not a bad price....it's built to last:)
