Ok I'm sure that this is a dumb question but when you book a stay in one of the hotels through DVC is theme park admission included or do you have to buy that each and every time you go?

DVC is only for your room at a resort. You'll still need to purchase park tickets. One of the current perks of DVC is that you can purchase annual park passes at a discount. There is no guarantee that the annual pass perk will continue, but its a good deal for as long as it lasts.

Also, not sure if you are aware that DVC members are able to add on the DDP without purchasing tickets through Disney. So, if the AP discount doesn't work for you then you have the option of saving a bit by purchasing tickets through on online discount ticket broker.

Back in the early days of DVC (early to mid 90's), they did include a limited number of passes with your lodging. However, that ended about 2000 and was limited only to some of the early purchasers. We bought in 1997 and did not get that offer.
