Instant Pot

I was wondering if anyone has ever brought an Instant Pot or similar appliance to Disney. We aren't staying at a Disney Resort this next trip (last minute trip) and will be staying at a Best Western on Disney property. I think our hotel has free breakfast for 2, and kids can eat free if an adult pays to eat and a Pizza Hut. So I think it might not be worth it for me to tote my precious pot to Disney. I could see myself cooking oatmeal basically for myself every morning and maybe at night too. We will have a refrigerator and our kids are a bit picky, so I think I probably won't do it. I was just curious if anyone on this board has done it, and do you like hide it or cover up the lid with a towel when you let the pressure out.

There isn't a Best Western on Disney property. However, there is one in the Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) area.

I have never stayed at that hotel, but if it doesn't have a kitchen, then it's probably a good idea to leave the cooking appliances at home - especially if you think that you need to "like hide it".

If you are only cooking oatmeal perhaps get an electric kettle to heat water and some instant oatmeal. They are usually pretty cheap and if it gets messed up much less of a loss then if your instant pot disappears.

Hotels don't like it if you use appliances that they don't provide in the room unless there is a kitchen.

Just so OP does not get confused, the Best Western in Disney Springs is ON property.
All of the land on Hotel Plaza Blvd is owned by Disney and they are considered on property.

OP you have a coffee/tea maker in room, how about just heating up water and using instant oatmeal.

There are fire codes that usually do not allow cooking appliances in hotel rooms. It can cause electrical problems, not to mention people leaving something on and forgetting or falling asleep. Coffee pots are more designed to stay on for while, (and even to shut themselves off perhaps). One person using it, probably not, but if even 1/2 the people used toasters, hot plates, etc it could be an issue.

I love my instant pot but no way am I lugging it on vacation with me and then trying to wash it every day in a hotel's bathroom sink.

I am always surprised when I see this question in the IP community group. Never tried bringing it and not planning on it. Agree with the others, hot water and instant oatmeal is a much easier option. Best Western in Disney Springs area website says microwave available for an additional charge, maybe check into that if you are concerned about picky eaters.

Ditto what others said. Appliances are generally a no-go for bringing on vacation. We always had breakfast in the room though. I used the coffee pot to heat up water for instant oatmeal and others had bagels, nutrigrain bars, whatever else. The only thing we'd buy was some cream cheese for the bagels and brought the rest in our suitcases. If you eat some of your luggage you'll have more room for souvenirs (or less weight to carry on the way home)

I am not a huge fan of cleaning the instant pot in my big sink at home... I can't imagine dealing with that or a crockpot in one of those tiny hotel sinks!! Plus the whole thing is HEAVY! Just not worth the hassle.

It would be crazy to to lug a large appliance on your trip and as has been noted, you cannot cook in a hotel room unless it has a kitchen.

I've never brought that type of item to use in a hotel room, but I have brought & used my crock pot in hotel suites that have kitchens - crock pot liners made for easy clean up too.
