I really want a screen door on our back door - especially since we have our yard fenced in now. I'm looking at the full view aluminum screen doors like this: http://columbiamfg.com/product.asp?prodid=67&catid=4&type=Models

I am pretty handy - I have my own cordless drill :) - and DH can follow instructions :rotfl:. When I was 8 months pregnant I installed plantation blinds throughout our entire house by myself. So I figured I could do this too.

We've never tried anything like this before. How hard is it? Would it be a better idea to pay someone to do it?

it's something you can do yourself..my husband and I installed a new screen door last year..just make sure you measure and get the right size..should only take an hour or 2 at the most..good luck!

of course if you want to have someone install it..I think Lowes 'sells' installation for a door for somewhere around $100..plus the cost of the door!

My dh who is pretty darn handy installed a security screen door at our old house. We both wish we had paid a professional for that particular job (omg, what a pita!!) although countless other projects go great!
