I've used Instacart from Publix several times and understand that their policy states that the customer must be present and present ID for alcohol delivery. However, my experience has been different--without notifying me, they left my alcohol with Bell Services, no ID requested. I'm not complaining, that's what I prefer!

So my question is, has anyone NOT received alcohol that they ordered through Instacart because they weren't available to show ID upon delivery? I'd love to have our order delivered while we're out and about.

No answer but I use to use wegoshop and loved that I didnt need to be there to get my order with alcohol since I used many times prior. I just placed an order with Publix/Instacart and made sure I had an early evening delivery so I could make sure my alcohol was delivered and I would be there to get the delivery. Wish I could have sent them a photo of my ID and chose an earlier option so it would all be there for when I arrive. Oh well.

I've had mixed experiences. For our last stay, we were at BCV in a 2 BR lockoff (so me, DH and kiddos had 1 room number assigned and my parents had a different room number assigned, all on the same reservation). For our previous stays, I did have to meet the driver and present ID.

Instacart delivered my parents order to Bell Services but my stepfather was told by the driver to go to Bell Services and present ID when the driver delivered it. Bell services then held the delivery there because the room was not ready (they arrived earlier than us and dropped baggage and went to Epcot). My order (also containing alcohol) was left with Bell Services without me present, and held at Bell Services despite us having already checked in. I called Bell Services around 6 PM and they sent my order up and left it in my parents empty room (without checking my ID at any point). I realized my parents order had not been delivered to the room, called, and had it sent it up but told me I would have to be in the room to present my ID to the CM who delivered it. I'm not sure what they would have done if I had said I wouldn't be available to present ID in either case.

So- same stay, same resort, same reservation, two Instacart orders, different procedures:
1. No ID checked by Instacart OR Bell Services, and delivered to empty room (my order)
2. ID checked by Instacart at time of delivery AND checked by Bell Services when delivered to room

It's a YMMV situation and I wouldn't count on alcohol being left without ID being checked at some point. You may get lucky but there's an equal chance that you may not. It seems in some cases Bell Services is willing to accept delivery and verify ID (or not) but it is at thier discretion and it's inconsistent (and in some cases it's Instacart's driver making the decision and that's also inconsistent).
