I don't think I ever got officialy caught I had two very close ones!

One time a friend and I decided to skip school and go downtown. I was living in Chicago at the time and took the Brown Line to Western. I got off at the stop and waited for my friend. Must have been 2 or 3 trains go by before they arrived then we got on the next train. We were standing on the train when my friend says, "Um, isn't that your mom?" I turned around and at the other end of the train there was my mom! She looked right into my eyes with the look of death. I gave a kind of big ha-ha smile then quickly turned away. Luckily she was at the other end of the train and there were a lot of people in her way. The very next stop my friend and I ran off the train and hid behind the post! LOL! We went downtown but I was so paranoid that I would end up seeing her again then we ended up taking the train to the suburbs instead. Luckily I didn't get in trouble because my sister ended up covering for me when we my mom got home.

Another time my parents were on vacation and I skipped. Well the attendance office called my dad at work and left a VOICEMAIL. A few days after he got back he mentioned something about a message, but luckily the lady in the office had a really thick accent and talked so fast he couldn't understand what she was saying.

Did you have any other close calls?

yup a couple times. n i will not elaborate.

drinking was involved,,

Yup I got caught. The registrar at school recognized my voice and would call my mom. *doh!*

I never skipped without my parents knowing--If i wanted to skip, i told them, they said yes, i went without the worry of getting caught--it worked for me!

Nope because about twice a year my mom would let me skip just for fun and she'd even call me out sick. Mom was a teacher too. :teeth:

No, but I did get an unexcused tardy on my record and had to serve an after-school detention because my dad decided it was more important to fix the washer than to take me to school on time. Sins of the father visited upon the child. :p

I never cut school. I was too afraid of getting caught and being in trouble.
My mother would let me skip school for the Mets home opening game each April.

No, I don't think I ever skipped school. I went to a very small private school...only 25 students in my senior class. If we were absent, the school secretary would call the parents by 9:30 a.m. to find out what was up.

I'm not sure it was every technically skipping since I had an excuse. I was good about getting "excuses" they just weren't always the correct excuse. But, no, I never got caught with my fake excuses.

I only skipped school 3x in my life. I was caught once --- on "Senior Skip" day.

A classmate skipped for the Mets home opener, then caught a fly ball. It was shown on TV and he got in a world of trouble at school! At home, not so much.

I did skip school, but my mom approved it! :thumbsup2 Our school had a senior cut day and it was "okayed" by the principal and vice principal every year so long as you stayed out of school all day. Couldn't come half day and go home or come later in the day. My mom chose to use my senior cut day as an opportunity to get us to Atlanta a day early to spend time with sister and the family! :cheer2:

I only skipped school once, it was about 6 weeks before I graduated HS. I got caught because I had to ride the bus to school, the driver was also my History teacher. I guess I wasn't thinking to clearly then.

I never got caught. I felt guilty and called my mom half way through the day. Didn't get in much trouble because I fessed up.

I skipped school more times than I care to admit. I only got caught twice, my neighbor saw me and told my parents, and the other time the school principal called my mom at work. There was no way I could intercept that call :rotfl:
