And by WORKING, I mean at a paying job outside of the home!

I always have and I always will! Never regretted a minute of it! Yes, it's tough, but it made me tougher and kept me sane! My DD is more independent for it and I feel I've been a great role model for her.

So, who else is proud to say they're a WORKING MOM??:D

I've always worked and never regretted it. Now I'm pretty lucky because I have a flexible job that allows me to work from home after school hours so I'm only at the office while the girls are at school and I can work from home if they are sick or something. Really seems like the best of both worlds in many ways. :)

<font color=navy>I'm a working mom, but I have to be since I'm raising these rascals on my own.

If I had my druthers, I'd work part time, and be at home a lot more. :)

been full time since the June DS got out of Kindergarten. It will be 5yrs full time this June. (Worked fulltime DSs first year and half. Couldnt stand it so I worked parttime until then.)

This June the library may be cutting everyone's hours back to 25. Im concerned/worried. DH says "Uncle Pat" (Fidelity) helped us through those early years and will do so again if needed.

I work full time. I could not be able to be a SAHM, I would atleast have to get out once or twice a week....to keep us all sane.

ME ME ME:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Since I'm a single mom, I have to work. I'd go crazy if I was home every day.

I work full time, help out at DS's school often, attend every PTA meeting and chaperone trips. (I'm going with them to Japan and China this summer)

After working full time for 25 years, I just quit my job in May and returned to college since I wasn't given that luxury after high school. I can honestly say that for the most part I haven't enjoyed working. It was something I HAD to do. Now that I'm in school and spending more time with DS, I'm really happy! But I can see that I'll need some sort of job soon. :(

I'm not a mom yet (due in July) and I'm not really working yet (graduating in May), but I will be a working mom. :) No doubt about it! I have worked way too hard to get through college and law school to just quit. :) My mom worked after my parents divorced (I was in 4th grade) and I think I turned out just fine. I can't even imagine being a SAHM...I think I'd go crazy! LOL!

Our original plan was that I would be a SAHM. I lasted a year and couldn't stand being home all day. I went back to work and haven't regretted it at all. DS is turning 9 soon.

I have only one child, so I'm sure my feelings might be different if I had several different schedules to juggle. My job is flexible, so I'm able to take off when necessary to attend school functions and anything else that comes up. DS is supremely confident and very independent. If anything, my working has been beneficial to him.

That would be me. :) I am a Director and Chief Financial Officer of a large utility district. I have always worked - other than the 6 weeks of maternity leave I took after DD was born. However, about 3 years ago, DH and I decided that we really DID want one of us to be home for our DD - because juggling our schedules was getting to be a nightmare - and our daughter is worth too much to us to have her be the loser in that process. SOOOoooo, my DH is a SAHD! He has been doing that for just a little under three years now. We will probably continue with this for another year before he thinks about reentry into the workforce. It was a sacrifice because we give up the extra income - but it turned out to be a great thing all around.

I believe we have both set a great example for our daughter. She has role models that portray that a woman can be the breadwinner and that a man can be an active participant in the home - all within a strong and loving relationship.

I've always worked as well. Sometimes part time, sometimes full time, but I have always had my hand in some type of work outside the home. I'm lucky in that I never had to work for financial reasons, and I have always loved what I do. :)

My kids come first, and every job I have ever had I have made that abundantly clear. I find if you are upfront about that from the get go, and don't take advantage, employers are usually very understanding. :)

Well, I'm not exactly sure which category I fall into. I operate a home daycare from my home. My own DS2 is a very much a part of it -- asks if the "kids" are coming on the weekend. They are his friends and his life. DS8 is a little different, he's in school every day, but I'm here when he gets home DS8 is also older - almost too old for a home daycare - but this is his home. As a daycare, we do many field trips and both of my kids come right along with the daycare. We have fun and keep very busy. I kind of fell into doing this when I had DS8 and didn't want to return to a job outside of the home. I am not the type to get involved in the "mom clubs". I can definately understand that some mom's need to have their own independence and that's fine. I also agree with addicted_to_WDW, a lot of children with working parents become much more indepedent and confident. We struggle with this everytime I try to leave my DS2 at home with DH.

I am a fulltime employee but I plan to change that in a month or so. I will take care of some issues and health concerns first, and then I hope to be working part-time somewhere after that. I can't wait!

Iam. I stayed home with DD until she was 5.(now 13) I went to work until my DS. I then had to go back to work when DS was 18 months.(now 6). I would love to stay home with them. They have grown up too fast. :(

The post above was to be mine but I didn't know DD had signed on..

LOL, missymouse!

I am and like some of the others I am a single Mom, and the only income in this household.

Luckily I have what my son considers a "cool" job and he is the "mascot" of my station!
