So, do you keep in touch with your friends from High School?

Ya know, it's funny...the people I thought I would always be friends with ended up fading away and the people I didn't think would be post-high school friends turned out to be my strongest and most trusted friends. Funny how things work out, isn't it.

i did not have many close friends in high school because i was very different from most kids in my district. the two people who were my best friends my senior year in high school are the two people from high school i keep in touch with. :)

I had a very close male friend that calls me about once a year just to check in. My two best friends went to a different high school and yes we still keep in touch and are still best friends.

I still see people from high school every now and then, especially since my son goes to the same high school (jr. high) I did. Lots of people have moved though.

honestly i havent seen my closeest high school friends that were my age since a few days after graduation, i ended up befreinding a group of other guys and have stayed remotely connected to them, but not really close to any of them anymore,

Some I do... others, not really.

Actually just this week I was on the phone with two of my oldest/deareset friends... one I met in 2nd grade and the other in HS. There is another group of friends that I have known ranging from 2nd grade to HS (we all went to different grade schools and even HS later, but all were friends with at least one other so a group formed) and I am still close to them as well.

I ran around with a bunch of different groups in HS, and out of that, I talk to some. Not many, but a few important people to me are still around :)

I had probably 5 really close friends during high school that I thought I would keep in contact with. One I never lost contact with but 2 of the others I have reconnected with. One found me and the other I contacted thru Classmates.com. The others I had brief contact with shortly after and have since lost contact with.

I have 2 friends I stay in touch with. I run into their moms more than them though.

Nope. I learned what real friends were like when I went to college. Itried keeping up with a few of them, but after they didn't even bother to RSVP for my wedding, I gave up.

My little sister keeps me updated on the members of the "Posse" though - she's still friends with one of their little brothers.

Not really. The one friend I have from highschool, I've grown up with her. We were in kindergarten together. Right now, we are getting over a difference of opinion, but we'll be back to friends eventually.

My best friend and I have been friends since 2nd grade (about 24 years ago, geesh!) I still keep in touch with another friend from elementary/middle/high school. I work in a hospital so some people from h.s. work in various jobs and I talk with them from time to time.

I'm still in touch with 4 friends from HS, but mostly via email. They all live out of state now. I might see them if they happen to come into town to visit their parents, but that's not very often. We don't even talk on the phone ever. I really have nothing in common with them anymore. I don't have any friends from before HS either. Most of my friends now are people I have met through my son's activities. It's a lot easier being friends with people when you live nearby and have children the same age.

No, I didn't have very many friends in HS. But I do talk to my best friend from HS, she's my best friend to this day. We've been best friends since Grade School.

Yep. My best friend in high school is still one of my best friends today. My other best friend I've known since we were babies and our moms are best friends---she's more like family though. My husband is also still friends with his high school buddies. BTW~~I graduated in 1995 and dh graduated in 1991, so we've been out of school for awhile. My 10 year reunion will be next summer. YIKES! I've GOT to lose weight!

I have two dear friends from kindergarten. We don't see each other much (one lives in town, one lives in Alabama) but we EMail, forward things, send BDay and Christmas cards. I also heard from a friend from HS this weekend. I hadn't talked to her in a while because her husband left her and she has been laying low, but she was flirting with someone at a bar this weekend and turns out he works with me, LOL, so she had to call. We talked for over an hour.
Look at it this way, though. I got a new phone and I programmed numbers for two friends from work and another friend who's husband is DH's best friend. That was about it for friends! I do have the other numbers memorized if I need them, though.

Nope.... I tried to keep in touch with one friend, but she didn't make any effort. Never even RSVP'd for my wedding.... so I gave up after that. DH also has not kept in touch with anyone from high school.... but he does still see a few college fraternity brothers occassionally.

I did make what I thought was a close friend in college. We went through a lot together in those few years. But after college she kind of drifted away. I always felt bad about it and finally tracked her down about two or three years ago. I called her number and she returned the call about a week later. But ever other word out of her mouth was foul (gee... why didn't I notice that in college? ;) ) and she was at a completely different place in life than I was.... she was still single and doing the bar scene and such..... I was a married SAHM.... so needless to say, we didn't keep in touch. .........................P

Yep - I married him!

Because we've moved away, contact with the rest of the gang has been sporadic. Mostly get updates through our parents who still live in the area.

::yes:: I'm leaving in a few hours to meet them for our annual girl's weekend in Boston. I've known them since the 3rd grade. We graduated H.S. in 1977, and have remained very close (there are 5 of us in our group). We have a major trip planned when we all turn 50 in a few years:sunny:

I work with a HS friend. When I got out of school I moved all over the country then returned here. He stayed here the entire time and now we work at the same place. He's the only one though.:D
