Would you have a problem your spouse going to a public place to meet someone of the opposite sex who they met on the internet?

Hmmm, depends on the circumstances. Was the spouse meeting a group of people, as in a DIS meet? Or was the spouse going out to lunch with a single person they met on a single's site!

Just depends on the circumstances behind the meet.

yeah Im with Saffron, if this is a group thing, like a Dis Meet I wouldnt care. If it was a single person meeting I *would* have a problem with it. Again it goes to respect. Why put yourself in that position?

I'd have a problem doing so by myself. But in a group setting I wouldn't and DH wouldn't.

Heck, DH had no problem with me meeting with an ex-boyfriend for lunch after we got married. Ex-boyfriend didn't know I'd gotten married and wanted to "discuss old times and new." DH didn't want me to let him know I was married so that we could see what ex's intentions were. Unfortunately, I couldn't pull that off. I kept saying "we" over the phone until "ex" asked who "we" was so I told him. LOL

As for circumstances, say something like a Dis meet type of thing(not someone from a singles site looking to hook up or anything like that), but with only 1 other person.

I don't think i'd have a problem with it. DH's once met someone on his lunch break from a magic group that he goes to. She was having problems with a trick and he met up with her to help her out with it. But if there were no reason for the meet other than to go out to dinner and it was just him and another girl...I don't think I'd like it but mostly because I would feel left out of something and not because I didn't trust him.

I just thought I should also add that DH and I met over the internet.

My SO has no problem with it, if it is a group setting
