Inspired by the Picky Eater thread

Ok, I understand not wanting to eat venison or rabbit b/c they are cute animals but veal? Have you ever seen a baby cow? they aren't cute at all! They are ugly creatures, just like big cows... so you have to come up with another excuse for veal...

All others are acceptable.

2 days old  How can you call this ugly? I actually dont know what kind of "cow" it is.. I'm sure its not a normal dairy cow.. but this little guy is awful cute! :cloud9: I also have pics of new born deer is anyone is eating venison :rolleyes1 Also some baby bufflo, emu's, bear cubs... PM me if ya wanna know where the pics were taken in PA :)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: DH does this to me EVERY time he tries a new beer. "This one is different, you might like it." And EVERY time, it looks and smells like SKUNK PEE!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: The nastiness is all the same in ever single one, whether it's dark, light, low carb, or has freaking lime in it. I just don't like BEER!

I forgot beer- I HATE it!! MY DH is just like yours- he always makes me take a sip when he opens a bottle. Not to see if I might like it, though- he and DD just loooove to see me make "the beer face". They think it's a riot to watch me squinch up my face and stick my tongue out, yelling, "Eeeewww!" :crazy2:

I think you described it perfectly- skunk pee!! :thumbsup2

Well slippery slope here because in the course of being polite or unpleasently surprised I've eaten things I'm intolerant to, or things that I just plain out hate.

But I do not like the taste texture or smell of onions and avoid them at all costs.

I do not like the taste or smell of seafood and I never eat it.

I do not like the smell or taste of peas and I do not eat them.

I'm not fan of spicey so I avoid jalapenos and the like.

I do not eat jello and I do not drink tea....even the sight or smell of these make me ill. (unforunate incident when I was 8)

Organ meats....no way. (had to add this after seeing it...I kinda thought that was a given LOL)

Slimey things make me gag and I may eat it but more than likely it's not staying, so I just avoid slimey. I have a number of texture issues but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet so to speak and I do my best not to make a face while doing it.

There are lots of things I don't like but have eaten to be polite or because I did not know they were a part of the ingredients, like raisins, mushrooms, bell peppers, butter (on bread not as a general ingredient), iceing, "sweet" sauces, cooked fruit, etc. I don't like them and I avoid them but I can't always avoid them, but I do my best.

Meat and products that come from dead animals (gelatin, stock, etc).
Olives, especially green ones. Black ones I can eat tiny bits of if I didn't pick them all out of my food.
I don't like most beers, but I'll manage to get it down. Of course, I'm not imbibing now!

You're right. It was an oversight on my part....I don't eat lamb either, for exactly that reason. I just can't eat a baby anything.

I will eat eggs, but I can't think about them too much beforehand. After just thinking about it in this context for a moment here, I probably won't be eating an egg in the next few weeks. That little umbilical cord just skeeves me out.

Oh, eggs in the supermarkets aren't fertilized. No tiny chickens in there. :)

Don't care for lima beans, canned peas or turnips but will eat them if served. Not a big fan of brains but have eaten them when my grandmother would cook them.
Anything else i will eat. DD and I just polished off a big can of Mexican soup with tripe in it.

ETA: DD and I are big fans of the show Bizzare Foods. The 2 things I don't think I could ever try is any type of eyeball and a beating heart. Yes he has eaten 3 on the show, fish, cobra and frog.

My grandmother use to make pickled pigs feet... I dont think I ever ate them (at least I hope not!).. nor would I eat them now.

Just to name a few:

zucchani
haggis
carits
venison
salid
hotdogs
chuckwagon
liver

Now I will eat just about every fruit there is as well as most vegetables.

chuckwagon as in dog food? Me either! What the heck are carits?

maybe she meant carnitas? http://www.batista.org/carnit.html

As for chuckwagon, it is basically baked beans with ground beef and bacon .
similar to chili but with a sweeter smokier taste. It can also refer to a mixture of macaroni, corn and ground beef (and tomatoes?).

Thanks for explaining. I never heard that term (chuckwagon) in reference to food before.:)

My aunt makes that, but she just calls it baked beans. I really liked it when she made it.

When we were little and we asked my mum, "what's for dinner?", she always answered "pickled pigs feet" (unless she said "poison"). I assumed that she was making them up - until my brother found a jar at the grocery store.

But she called it dog food. That is what she made her dog

I am allergic to kiwi.
I won't eat red meat, or any pork except bacon.
I dislike lobster, duck, eel, natto, and uni. I suppose I would eat them if I HAD to, but I would rather not.

Everything else is fine with me!

I'ts not dog food, (though my dog would eat it, he eats anything.) We had it at the beach and my whole gobbled it up. (Except for my picky younger cousins.)
