I grew up a picky eater, but I always felt guilty about it. I got better as I got older, and now I'm more adventurous than my parents ever were. That being said, there are a couple foods I cannot eat. The biggie? Onions. It's not that I don't like the way they taste. I love things cooked with onions! I cook with onions all the time for my DH (he gets to eat them), but there's just something about the texture or whatever I cannot handle. I have an honest to god gag reflex. I can be eating something and enjoying it, and then suddenly realize there's onions in it and have to physically prevent myself from just spewing everywhere.
It's makes work lunches rather difficult to handle at times. Onions are in just about everything, if you think about it. I had a burger at a work related lunch the other day and there were onion baked into my burger!!! What the heck am I supposed to do if I can't even safely order a burger?! My boss's secretary was asking me if I was okay and everything...guess I was turning green. In all honesty, I wish I didn't have this problem.
