Inspired by the "Can I cut in line..etc " thread

It won't drive me away, I still seek out the useful information amidst the gripping, complaining, and whining. Sometimes I'm not sure if I'm actually in a Disney community or if I've somehow been stranded on an island full of villians. I will be back in the world in about a week, wearing my peace, love, Mickey Mouse shirt. May the peace and love spread among our community of DIS, find acceptance in your hearts for the mug reusers, the pool hoppers, the line jumpers/returning to line from potty breaks, and the table reservers. Everyone sees Disney in a different way on their trips, I think it's up to us to show the tolerance, love, peace and acceptance that the wonderful cast members show us. Many learn by observation and gentle discussions. I know on this trip, that I will smile when people stop in front of me, they don't realize that they have stopped traffic, I will move out of the way of commando EVC's and strollers, I will guide my granddaughters stroller with care of those around me, I will always give my seat up to an elderly person, a handicap person, or the tired parent holding on to that precious baby because they were too tired to wait for the next bus, and if you see someone smiling silly at the people who make you mad, wave, I'll be the one smiling standing nearby.

I don't mind reading negative comments from time to time, in the same way I enjoy listening to a good debate. I think hearing opposing points of view helps to sort out one's thoughts and to introduce new ideas, which we are then free to accept or reject. It's healthy and doesn't bother me.

I do have to admit that I am bothered when I come out of a CS food line with my nice, hot food, and virtually every table consists of one or two people waiting for others. At crowded times, if everybody sat down when they got their food, then the table saving wouldn't be necessary. But most people feel pressured to save a table because everybody else is: if they don't, then they will be the ones left out. I'm glad Disney is trying this experiment at Pecos Bills, and I think it's a good idea. It takes that "if I don't, everybody else will" mentality out of the equation.

Also, just because a family can't get a table to wait doesn't mean they have to all stand in the line. You could go in a shop, take the kids to the bathroom to wash their hands, sit on a bench outside the restaurant, or whatever. If your kids aren't good in line, not being able to get a table doesn't necessarily equate to forcing the kids to stand in line.

I have three kids who have been going to WDW since infancy, and we've never had trouble with this. If the restaurant is not crowded, we'll sit down. Otherwise, wait until we get the food. I feel sorry for people trolling around restaurants with trays of food while one or two people sit at a table waiting.

I have to say the only thing that gets me are the parents who obviously break the rules in front of their children. What kind of message is that? My family and I go out of our way to be kind to others and spread some pixie dust. My DD (8) always remarks on how nice I am to strangers that have to leave the line to use the bathroom or see a parade, etc. Hopefully my children will follow my example as adults. WDW is the perfect place to be a good role model and teach your children tolerance and kindness.

Not elitist. Why would someone leave a higher end pool with a slide and better amenities (not to mention their room near by) to go hang out at a value pool?

To get the benefit of trying every pool. Take Pop for instance I would never stay there so would never get the chance to try out the pool. My kids however might think it was cool to spend an hour or so playing in the splash zone.

So you think it's fair for those who pay more for a pool with a slide to have their pool overrun by people trying to save a few bucks at a value. And I always stay at a value. From one duck to another, it's a good rule.

I may be wrong, but I heard the soda was provided free of charge to Disney by whatever company it's made by.


We have a smaller, but still good sized, family amusement park about an hour or so from here called Holiday World. There are Pepsi beverage stations throughout the park where you walk in, grab a cup, and get free soda all day long. Free sunscreen, too.

I am from Evansville, IN -- we LOVE Holiday World!!!!

it never occurred to me before reading this board that I should give up my bus seat for a child, or an adult with child (besides a parent with baby). . .I'm still not sure if I will.

I'll probably feel guilty and end up doing it this trip

My husband gave up his seat so a mum could sit down a few years back and she put her child in the seat instead. I was furious (though hubby didn't mind!) I don't think older children/teens should sit if an adult is standing.
But it occurs to me that that's not exactly a rule and therefore not relevant - sorry!

I would like for Disney to enforce their rules. I love it when Disney checks room keys and makes people leave who aren't entitled to be there. I love it when they make people who don't have tickets for the Halloween or Christmas parties leave the park during those parties. I do wish that people were always required to display their pass or ticket at the after hours events.
I don't want to have to put up with even larger crowds because of some people who think the rules shouldn't apply to them.

First congrats to me for reading EVERY post on all 11 pages, ,yayyyyyyy!!! lol...
I remember the days, yea I'm dating myself here, when you did have to show your resort ID to get on the buses, but yea Im sure now anyone can take any bus anywhere on Disney property.
Pool hopping, I have to say, I have been about 75 times in my lifetime,the last 50 of those staying on site, at deluxe resorts and I have yet to see anyone who seems like a pool hopper and/or a CM or lifeguard check any kind of ID.
But then I go at quiet or non crowded times I guess. Is it really that much of a problem? or only to certain people here.
I do find it funny that there are 2 posters on here who always stir the pot with their righteous views.....but hey....they are SO entertaining....makes me laugh so thank you.....just so predictable if there's a pool hopping thread or some procedure discussion, they pop in with their posts.....I needed a good laugh tonight..so thank you!, lol......
I especially love the sign of the pool rules, which I've now seen on several posts. Guess it's not one of the things that I take pics of when I'm on vacation. Notice how the "no food or beverages" rule never is followed though? lol
Only 9 days til my 11 day trip to the World, gonna have to bring my mug I bought back in February and watch out for people invading my pool area at the Beach Club, Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge....

I was thinking of bring my mugs back from the January trip ~ even though we get free mugs on our Deluxe Dining plan ~ I would like to keep those new and through them in my bag and then ditch the older ones at the end of our vacation.

So to the anti mug bringerers backers ~ does it make it okay that I did actually buy a mug even if the one I am filling is not the official one I bought this trip?

I guess we cheated with the refillable mugs. We bought one new one and brought the old one as well. We'd fill the new one up and then pour the drink into the old one and go back for whatever the other person wanted in the new mug. I figured it was really just another refill, LOL.

We have been 5 times in the last 12 months and do deluxe dining every time ~ so that is

5 Mugs X 4 people = 20 mugs. Not to mention the ones from the year before. I DON'T need anymore at home. I do use them everyday and they get worn in the dishwasher ~ so ditching the oldest ones at the end of trip 6 and keeping the new ones new seems like a good idea to me. I can tape my receipt to the bottom of the old one in case anyone says anything.

Suellen, I have yet to see a CM ask to see a receipt for a mug as well....
But wow you do have a collection, you could do a formal dinner and serve drinks in your mugs and be the talk of everyone who attends! lol....just kidding....
