I've run across a few in my lifetime! I worked at a place that had a lot of desks out in the open. I walked out of my office and saw a woman sitting at her desk shaving her legs (dry) with a disposable razor.

We also had this man who had his wife creamated when she died. He used to buckle her urn in the front seat of his car and drive around with her. One day he got mad at her and put her urn in his trunk. He told us this. That's strange, but sad also.

What unusual people have you worked with?

I worked with a woman at my p/t job once who I ended up having to go to personnel about-it got to the point where she was stalking me. She would constantly ask me where I got everything I wore, to the pont where she would come up behind me and check the label in my dresses -yes, she would stick her hand down the back of my dress and pull the label out:eek: . She would then come to work the next day wearing the same thing I had on. She started styling her hair like mine, even started talking like me, using the same phrases I use. It was very bizarre. the kicker was when she showed up at my house one time, saying she was "just in the neighborhood", even though she lived a few towns away. Personnel gave her a warning, and she ended up quitting.

Ok, I have you all beat. We had a teacher who had a nervous break down in the worse way. She was in her 60's when this happened. She came into school dressed in a black lace see though top and a white bra!!!! Completely see through I tell you.

had another co-worker escorted out of the building for Credit card fraud.

I can list here forever...we seem t be a weirdo magnet at times...I mean look I have been there for 17 years :)

I had a co-worker who truly believed he was from another planet. He used to go to places like Roswell to try and find his roots. (I swear this is true). He also didn't speak normal English. He "beeped". You know, "beep, beepbeep beep". He also was a hypochondriac. One time he brought in a note on a doctor's prescription pad that said, "Please excuse alienboy for being out of work. He is allergic to himself". TRUE STORY. His boss, who thought he'd seen it all, was dumbfounded by that one. What could he do?

  :teeth: Classics to say the least!;) I had a co-worker that was about 50 at the time, female, and she was married to a man about 20 years older. Anyway, she lived in a White House and the interior of her house was Beige and White. EVERYDAY she wore Beige and White! She said her clothes Matched her House! Also, she would eat for lunch EVERY day, a peice of "brown Bread and a Banana." The Brown Bread was Wheat Bread, which was NOT to popular in the 70's so I have NO idea where she bought it. Also, she would FREEZE her Garbage, and HAND it to the Garbage Men on Garbage day.:o She told us ALL of this thru-out the 5 years I worked with her.:o Years later, her Husband passed on, she sold her House, and admitted HERSELF into a Nursing Home.

I have a very strange co-worker who likes chocolate, yankee candles, and cats.:teeth:

OMG, Im ROFL at these!

I worked with a woman who would cut her nose hairs at her desk with those big scissors(the silver ones with the big black fingerholes). She also could only have 2 pens & 2 pencils in her desk at all times. Every morning she would come in and check her drawer then say "2 pens, 2 pencils, no more, no less".

caution: names have been changed to protect the innocent!

i worked with a guy, who was actually a woman. i'm not kidding, and the job was assisting folks with mental illness with their everyday activities, like groceries, doc appts, socialization, etc. in addition, we also helped them through hallucinations, med side effects, suicidal thoughts/attempts, etc. pretty intense experience every day.

there had been rumors for years, but it eventually came out when he ended up in the psych hospital and left the job/town/state.

blew my mind, what more can i say?

 People are weird, aren't they? This is why I LOVE my animals!:o

Oh my. Well, at least I have not seen any resemblance of myself in these posts yet :)

I've got 2, and I swear they are both true. The first was about 15 years ago. There was this guy who would always join whatever group I was chatting with during breaks/lunch and put his hand down his pants (no, it wasn't into his pocket) up to his elbow and just chat away like that. :p

The other was about 10 years ago when I worked on the same floor as a guy who only showered once a week on Sunday. Luckily I didn't have much contact with him but unfortunately his desk was on the way to the ladies room.

Wow. Those are some doozies!

Here's mine: I thought it was pretty strange during a high level meeting (all the top brass) for a co-worker to pull out finger nail clippers and start clipping away. I kept hearing this, click...click...click...Very distracting. Looked around and there he was! Gross.

My office had a nail clipper too. It was so gross that when he left for another job, the person who ended up in his office found a drawer full of clippings! We also called this guy stinky and not because he didn't shower, he would pass gas at any moment and would either say nothing and walk out, or he would say oh well, everyone does it! It was disgusting!!! I really think towards the end of his "career" with us he would totally do it on purpose. I think it was his way of getting back at the boss!!

Had a temp secretary , and he/she was obviously a man in drag, or a transexual. He/she was over 6ft tall and still masculine even though he/she dressed feminine. Word got around and people were starting to stop by the dept just to see her/him!!

There was a manager who always had gas, and she become KNOWN for it. She'd pass gas all the time at meetings - with no shame whatsoever.

I used to work for attorneys and my boss hired a strange woman once.

She used to come into work dressed as a man . . .short hair, short fingernails, she wore business suits for men. We always thought she was a little odd . . .she would talk to herself and sing. Then one day she was sitting at her desk oooooing and aaahing . . .and making other verbal noises . . .and when you looked at her she'd stick her tongue out . . .We thought she had tourettes, but we didn't know for sure . . .As time went on, she starting making kissy faces at everyone . . .for no reason, just walked by and made some smacking noises . . .What topped it all off is she came in with a picture of a dog . . .you can tell it was cut out from a magazine article . . .it was about some surfing collie but she insisted it was HER dog and his name was DUKIE . . . She was quite the weird one . . .

My worse had to be Rob -- he was physically challenged and got around in a motorize wheel chair. I swear -- he use to aim at people as he was moving about. The faster he whipped his chair around, the better. I had the displeasure of sitting at the cubicle next to him and dreaded every day of it. He is one of the most obnoxious people I've ever had to deal with. He was loud, he was crude, he used vulgar language and the way he attached a bag of potato chips was so disgusting. I can still hear him chomping away!! Gross!!

I also worked a man who drew pictures on the bottom of his shoes during meetings.

I used to work as a para and the teacher I worked with was quite strange. Once she wore her skirt backwards and could not figure out who sewed her pockets shut because she could not get her hands in them. Another teacher informed her that her skirt was on backwards. Another time she was 4 hours late to class because she got her purse strap caught in the phone cord. Another time she walked around almost the whole day with 2 different shoes on.What was funny about this was they were not similar at all!!! One shoe was a sandal, bone in color with a 1 inch heel. The other shoe was a pump dark brown in color with a 3-4 inch heel!!!!

Her husband was not much better. He was a part-time froest ranger and he once cleaned out their fireplace and put hot embers in a plastic bucket and sat the bucket on the carpet and left it there. The carpet caught on fire and they had to call the fire dept.

There was this guy who would always join whatever group I was chatting with during breaks/lunch and put his hand down his pants (no, it wasn't into his pocket) up to his elbow and just chat away like that.

  I thought most men only did this in PRIVATE!!!! :p
