Well JUSt last night, my MIL gave me the "Smooth Away" hair removal pads. Apparently she thinks I'm hairy...but I digress.
Essentially it's a disk of very fine sandpaper that literally grinds off the hair, and the top couple of layers of skin I imagine. Honestly, I tried it on the back of my wrist and it did seem to make the hair go away, but I am terrified to try it on any large area like my leg or bikini zone. I'm especially worried about the regrowth of hair too...not to mention what it does to the skin.
I'll report back in a few days when my wrist hairs make a reappearance.
We've also done (courtesy of MIl...she LOVES products):
pedipaws- worked for us
PedEgg- worked ok. I just hate the "grated cheese" skin dust that gets eveerywhere.
Kinoki Foot Pads: A total scam
Forman Grill- works but it's a PITA.
Slap Chop- you mean crap chop
Bare minerals- makes my face itch and burn the coverage is lousy
I LOVE those things! I used to buy them at Wal-Mart but now they don't seem to sell them anymore and I can't bring myself to order them!
Have you checked out that store at Concord Mills? It's called "As Seen On TV".
I'm still hoping someone has tried the paint thing they are advertising lately. You can paint the ceiling without a ladder.
Crap I didn't even know that store was there. I think I've been to Concord mills like 3 times in all the years I've lived in Charlotte, and one of them was 2 days ago! I would have looed if I had known! We just popped in for lunch at Macado's.
I got the ShamWoWs in our "White Elephant Christmas" w/DH's family 2 weeks ago.........but being "white elephant", someone could take it from me and they did!!! I was so pi$$ed!!!![]()
Has anyone tried the "sliders"?? DS7 is begging for that one. "Come on mom, this makes burgers in 2 minutes, and you take one whole hour".![]()
Does anyone have this:

I just saw this commercial for the first time and I had to restrain myself from picking up the phone right then.I'm not gonna lie --- I'm trying very hard to restrain myself from ordering those bra strap thingees. Not only would my bra straps not show when wearing those funny-backed tanks in the summer, but wouldn't mind the cheap, non-surgical "lift" either!!![]()
OK, I finally found the hair bumper - Bumpits:
http://www.bighappiehair.com/instructions.html
My hair is flat, flat, flat and straight, straight, straight and if this works to put a bit of volume in your hair, I really think I would get it.
But not from the TV ad. From a CVS or Walgreens, maybe.
Did you notice on that page, on the right hand side, towards the bottom, it says "Bumpits are not edible" ? I hope you werent considering getting them as a snack.![]()

I caught the tail end of that commerical and wondered about those.
If your hair is thin at all - I would imagine it would show through. I dont know about that one.
If when you 'do' your hair, you create your crown, from the tips of the ears back (this is where you should be doing it) and you use a little root lift, there is just no need for this non-edible hair device.![]()
I did see the line about the not being edible. And since I am on the third day of my "lifestyle change" which includes more "clean" food and no junk, I can see how a small plastic ridge might look as yummy as some sort of sucker-candy to a hungry person.![]()
My hair is pretty fine/soft, but I have a lot of it.
Any product I use in my hair only lasts a few hours max before I fall flat again. I thought this might last longer.
It might.
If you get it - for real, update me. Im curious if it works. (and that it's not TOO bumpy, like an alien head)
