Muushka, the post says it all......i have no agenda here, there is no hidden messages...........so what you are saying, that if the CM treats you badly all the time you would not own DVC???? Well they can call me an a**hole for 15 minutes at the top of their lungs, and me and mine, will still be into disney for the venue.................i never bought for the customer service way back in 91.............and never added on for that reason either.............When i want those services i know where i can aquire them.................i bought it for everything else...............the CM's dont make or break my vacations.........i have experienced every possible concievable inconvience in WDW since 1971............i been there over 125 times............i chose to make magic and disney just enhances our experience. Maybe I am just out there i dont know??? I go to enjoy and experience it with my friends and family...........i dont expect disney to do, much less provide me our joy for my dues and money

Bongo you are not out there my family and I are the same way we don't care if the CM's or others are rude to us near us or otherwise. We just enjoy being there regardless of what others are doing or may do we are there for us and for our family to have a good time no matter what else goes on there.

Ooooh, contract law, my favorite :) Seriously, this isn't about what's in the contract, though please be certain that there are far more dimensions to a contract than what's written or contained in legalese and disclaimers. Advertising, verbal promises, custom etc all can play a role in certain cases. At any rate, this has NOTHING to do about the contract. It's about reputation, publicity, brand value, customer loyalty, DVC property value, and a list of intangible assets the Disney Co needs to be very careful to protect.

This is exactly the kind of attitude creating the poor customer service plaguing most large corporations, Disney increasingly included. It's the Wal-Mart-ization of the american consumer. We're being brainwashed into believing that as long as we get the product we sought, we should and will put up with indifferent and sometimes rude "service". The corporations have managed to convince us that good service is just a bonus, not actually part of the deal. We go to wal-mart for low prices, we'll put up with the no-eye-contact teenager at the register. ditto McDonalds. This is the attitude I hear in your comments, bongo59. And it saddens me, because if it becomes predominant among most disney guests, then WDW will feel like a Wal-Mart real soon.

I believe most people go to WDW to escape the brainwashing, to go somewhere where customer service actually still exists and is still part o the deal. Disney knows this, that's why it's marketed as such.

If your expectations of resort CM's are so low that you wouldn't mind be chastised for 15 minutes, please do not stay at any WDW resorts. You will ruin the customer service for those of us who expect respectful service for the product we paid for. We want Disney, not Wal-Mart.

that post is utter funny!!!!.........i even showed it to my wife and she chuckled too.........Disney to walmart???? what an analogy.........that is such a ridiculous stretching of facts it make me think you must work for a PAC or politcal group!!!!! LOL thanks for the laugh...........i enjoyed it!!!! I think you must be one sad person if you really believe that. To each there own...............i respect your opinion i just cant endorse it

Rash this also goes for the guest that belittles and ridicules a CM for not having their room ready etc at the drop of a hat how is that any better it goes both ways and the guests are as big a problem as the CM's now this is just my opinion and I am sure many will disagree and the old saying goes the few spoil it for the many.

You're entitled to your opinion, but your personal attacks are not warranted and actually serve to show me the type of mentality I'm having a "discussion" with. I should've have known better when in an earlier post you actually said "i know i am correct".

I will no longer respond to your comments as I'm not interested in wasting my time on someone who resorts to political labeling and insults on a Disney discussion board.

.....rash my post was never meant as you have taken it..........it was quite tongue in cheek. I dont see it as a personal attack nor political...........those terms were used as an analogy to mimick your analogy of Disney and Walmart.

I don't disgree. There is no excuse for treating anyone with anything but respect and courtesy. But, while Disney can't control their customers attitudes, it most certainly can manage and train their employees to achieve the level of professionalism alluded to in their marketing scheme.

I work in a health care office. Not a day goes by that I don't hear a patient give one of my employees an attitude or worse. But they are trained to be professional at all times, even in the face on some very nasty people. The day they aren't is the day I blame myself for not properly managing my staff. If a patient were to encounter a rude attitude from my employee, do you think I could tell them "well people have been rude to her all day, so she's allowed to have an attitude and be unprofessional"? I wouldn't be in business very long.

Hard to see anything tongue in cheek about that.

rash i choose my words very carefully........i said i "think" and "IF you" really believe that.........none of that is condeming.....i would not condemn someone i dont know.........this is all about our perceptions and what really is in the contracts we all signed.............it is and was meant in a manner so that you may explain that difference.....my belief is that you think what Disney has marketed is what they must deliver...........my belief is, i come to expect what i bought in the POS and in the DVC contracts originally signed. That is a huge difference and the reason we are in disagreement. It is not personal for me at all, but i do think it is the essence of what wdwzeus post was trying to point out

I can't even believe this is a real thread on the DVC board. Since we're so into opinions lately I would just like to say, put a cork in it :charac2:

well if you dont like it you could chose to avoid it, but it seems you have not..................there is nothing like a little banter to see other view points...........no harm no foul...............

Ok fair enough, here's my viewpoint:

I think it's hysterical that the starter of the 16 page (waste of our time) thread voted in the poll!!!!

me too.............and in the other DVC forum he just posted another thread

I'm astounded by this.

Would you continue to patronize a restaurant marketed as "incredible atmosphere, service, and product", where in reality the servers were rude and unhelpful, just because you liked the building and the food? Would you then turn around and tip them, because heck, you didn't buy into the 'customer service', you're there for the food and decorations? The CMs are as integral a part of the vacation experience at Disney as your server is to your meal, in my eyes. They are the conduit through which we need to communicate, they are the guides, they are the "face to the world" of a huge corporate entity, and poor customer service is a sign of something horrible higher up in the ranks. I would not patronize any place that did not give me the respect, as a customer/client/patron, that I deserve, no matter how much magic I can make for myself. I invested in accomodations for my family and myself, and I have certain basic expectations - common courtesy, cleanliness, timeliness, basic respect, a smile if possible, but at the very least a TOTAL LACK OF RUDENESS. And I don't think I 'bought into the Disney marketing hype' by expecting this. :sad2:

And...now in ring two....The almighty Rash :charac4: vs. The everlasting Bongo :badpc: Hey...do we get to vote again? :Pinkbounc
