With the holidays getting closer and so many of our military personnel overseas I've chosen to have my scout den bring in a few small donations so as to send a goodie box to someone from our area that is serving overseas to share with their friends. Granted it most likely won't reach them before Christmas but I think it will still be appreciated whenever it is delivered. And it helps teach the cubs how important it is to be thankful for all they have and to show appreciation to our military families.
But after reading pokiemomo181's post and seeing how very many exchanges seem to be going on here at the DIS I wonder if some of the military families would like to have holiday cards sent to their family members that cant come home for the holidays. Sort of a penpal/we're thankful your protecting our country type of thing.
Any thoughts?
