Those strap things that they use in toy packages to tie the toys down to the packaging. It's like bondage for toys. It is too thick to cut with scissors and impossible to untie. It always ends in blood. Trying to remove a transformer from its packaging should not result in a trip to the emergency room for stitches.

I hate horseflies. One just bit me in the foot tonight and it hurts like heck. Also, yellow jackets, fire ant, gnats and mosquitoes. Biting bugs just can't seem to leave me alone.

Stupid people. Also horseradish, celery, mosquitos, raisins, "Those" parents, clamshell packaging, the scene in "Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan" where they put the Ceti eels in people's ears, and the use of the words "mute point" instead of "moot point".

YES! This! I should definately add it to my list! We had an ER visit after my DD tried to open a Tamagatchi package with scissors a few years back!

Sometimes I hate my Girl Scout parents (Leader here) who treat me like I'm the hired help (with no pay obviously).

I have fond memories of crazy girl scout parents. One mom had a fit because it rained on a day we had a hike planned. When she came to drop off her snowie, she got in my face and said the activity was the stupidest idea she ever saw and if her flake got sick from being in the rain, I was responsible for the doctor bill. Needless to say I pulled her aside and set her straight about what I was and was not responsible for. She was livid and told her daughter if she (the dd) left then she would buy her a triple scoop sundae. The girl wanted to stay, but clearly didn't want to tick off mommy so she picked the sundae.

I thought this thread was going to be totally about something else so Iu wil reply with my first thought. I hate state testing, it takes away from actual learning, I don't care what the schools test scores are only my kids individual grades and I think it is a waste of talented teachers time and burdomsom and unnecesary for the kids.

Me too--I see lots to agree with--especially the packaging, anchovies and beets.

But I LOVE snow

I also hate all the ways to conjugate "the" in German YOu have to know not only the gender of your word (which is totally random, bras are masculine as are skirts but ties are feminine and girls are neuter ) but then how the word is being used in the sentence (subject, direct object or indirect object or following certain prepositions and for some of those it matters if the verb indicate movement or not)--that is a lot of stuff to think about every single time you speak and I HATE it!!!!

I hate lots of things - I tend to be a rather opinionated person... some of them I can't get into here without violating various rules, so I shall let those go, but...

I hate onions, mushrooms, peppers of all varieties, packaging on/in kids' toys(!!), winter, camping, cooked celery, hot tea (but I ADORE iced tea, go figure), "texting" speak in daily conversation or writing, pants that hang down someone's backside exposing their underwear, and ignorance.

ETA: I also HATE safety seals that are adult-proof. WHY must the seal be put on the bottle with super glue?? Do the manufacturers really think that making my coffee creamer inaccessible to me at 5 AM because of a cursed piece of foil equals good customer service??

One sided conversations.
When people mistake their opinions for facts.
That there are children in the world who go to bed feeling unloved and uncared for, instead of safe and protected.
Peas...but still holding out hope.
That when your kid is great you are lucky, but when they aren't being so great it's your fault!
That moms are sometimes so hard on other moms.
Putting laundry away.
That my dog starts barking to go outside the second I step into the shower.
That my kids suddenly have a burning desperate need to talk to me and usually at very high volume as soon as I pick up a phone...or step into the shower.
Dirty dishes.
Hot pink playdough smished into almost white carpet.
That someday my phone and shower interrupters, laundry and dish creators, and playdough smishers will be grown and gone...and I'll probably still hate peas.
