Inspired by myself...Do your or your SO snore??

I wonder why the insurance doesn't want to cover this? That is a shame.

It was because I was trying to get my own policy, not on a group. If I was with an employer, then they have to take me, good and bad problems.

With private insurance they can be picky. Not only do you stop breathing in the middle of the night, it can cause heart problems, blood pressure problems, brain problems... The list goes on. They know it's bad - that's why the filter out when they can. Can't blame them after all.

When I was tested back when I was under a group policy, insurance paid 100% of the test and also paid for the breathing machine (I now own it). It was, like another poster said, a life changing event.

Can you explain what "the little machine" is and how it works? I'd really like to know.

Big V posted an excellent link that describes most everything in general. A CPAP machine is about the size of a breadbox. It sits next to the bed, and is connected to the mask or nasal pillows through a flexible tube about 5 feet long or so.

Is it weird looking? Yeah, kinda.

Is it bothersome? Sometimes. When I'm congested I can't use it, it creates all kinds of problems.

Is it loud? It's no louder than a humidifier or a white noise machine. DW says it lulls her to sleep now instead of my snoring her keeping her up. She's a VERY light sleeper and has no problem with it.

He just doesn't want to go for the test. I haven't had a good night's sleep in years:rolleyes: I'm often heading for the couch in the middle of the night.

Then send HIM to the couch from now on. Tell him he's relegated to the couch from now on until he gets tested. And if he's sleeping on the couch, there's no chance for any night time 'activities'. ;)

The study is PAINLESS and he gets to watch TV before he goes to bed. That means he controls the remote all night long and nobody complains.

I'm sorry, I'll really be honest here, anybody that won't go to see their doctor about this is being a BABY about it. It's such a simple test. I know, I know - I'm being harsh. Think about it this way - Not only is it hazardous to his health and yours - it's hazardous to the marraige. Tired grumpy spouses are MUCH harder on a marraige than restful, happy ones.

Doesnt snore while sleeping but Giggles, Laughs and Cusses up a storm...

Also sleepwalk..

One time 8 yrs ago, I woke up in the middle of the night and made orange juice..

Another time I woke up and wife was getting ready for work...
I try to walk outside with my Rollaboard suitcase with nothing on but my skivies. She asked where I was going. I told her Im gonna be late for my trip. (turns out I was dreaming I was a Flight attendant and I was really late for my trip.....) I tried and tried to go down the stairs of my apartment but she wouldnt let me.
She got me back into bed and just laughed..
